This stuff is overwhelming, but its also good to know that one is part of a bigger family that's sort of sees past it all at DU. :(

Romanian dictator ceucescui(?) was one fearsome sob but then the people turned on him and he bacame a pthetic old man just like that; he couldn't even save his old lady (she was shot with Nicolae)...don't worry, the busheviks are nothing, their power is all con, all mediahype, and they are fading fast. the mediawhores are frantically pedalling on a bike going downhill (they think they're going uphill, but that's just oxy contin side effect, i guess(?))...the fascists are digging themselves in deeper with every sneaky trick; they literally can't stop to hide the evidence from past misdeeds, they must press on, pedal faster, hurry hurry because, well the hangman's NOW awake :) ...for rich pigs and well greased mediawhores, the death penalty is ok, as they then won't do any more crimes again once they're needled and cremated it's over thank god!
(btw this prescribing horrible punishment for OTHERS is fun, when not in any danger of suffering it in person, and it has the added joy of being truth, within the very strict limits applied in this specific mediawhore/nazipooh case...go potassium cyanide GO!)

Just turn off the machine and say to yourself "it's only a message board...it's only a message board".

DU is supposed to be fun...a vent...a rough & tumble place where all types of people come together to find a few common threads and then exchange opinions on the rest. It's not supposed to solve the world's problems...or even the Democrats. That's going on in "the real world" or on other sites.

Seems like some get a little carried away with this place and themselves...I guess that's natural when you have so many free spirits in one place...but I've never taken this place...or the fights that happen here very seriously. Hell, getting a thick skin isn't a bad thing anyway...prepares you for dealing with the real idiots and wingnuts.
