Question about the "would-be-but-wasn't" bomber...
Edited on Sat Dec-10-05 07:05 AM by DRoseDARs
I'm not clear on where he was shot. Was he on the plane in the midst of other passengers? Was he in the jetway leading back into the airport, possibly passing other passengers or air crew, or even other people just beyond the jetway inside the terminal? Was he on the tarmac, well-outside the earshot of any witnesses other than the air marshals that shot him?

Edit: I should add that I've seen different versions placing him in different spots, hence my confusion.

1. He was on the jetway
where there would certainly be fewer witnesses.

All of the passengers had already boarded the plane and they were getting ready to shut the doors to prepare for takeoff.

2. Thank you, that doesn't instill confidence, but it's helpful...
I'm having a discussion elsewhere and I really don't feel comfortable conceeding this debate, but if the BP guy and the air marshals were the only ones in the jetway outside of earshot from any other witnesses, then from where I'm sitting I have no honest choice but to conceed. I just hope a clean investigation can clear up the events of this incident...

...he had a bomb? On the plane or in the jetway?

4. I put up a post re: this... based on the latest media accounts
(citing passengers, that is) he'd have had to have said what was *interpreted* as him having a bomb (I disagree - see my post for my alternate theory) either in the jetway or very near to it while still inside the plane, since passengers further back didn't hear a word from him either way when he passed by them.

Whatever the cops heard, something clicked and out came the guns. Unfortunate, but there's a reason that laws about speaking about bombs in an airport are vigorously enforced. They're not playing around. (At least, the people cleared to wear guns aren't.)

6. so brave versus unarmed
dammit, why admire boors? a real brave officer would know there was no danger, and preserve the peace, cowards kill innocents, and now they going to go to hell (lol)
maybe cowards shouldn't be cops....
btw a police officer wastes his life. all he can do is bury the dead, imprison and kill them. there are good police officers, who do their job with tremendous wit and skill, but rarely do they kill, and never an unarmed crazyman....which boor cops do routinely
