Tax Payer $$$ Goes to Development of Violent Video Game & Recruiting Tool
The Army has created a "real life" type shoot and kill'em video game to be used as a recruting tool for our youth.

Amaizing what our tax dollars go to!

1. This fits right in with what's been happening for the last
30 plus years; The desensitization our citizens to current and future wars, through images of violence and killing. How many murders and violent acts per week do you imagine that the average 10 year old would see on the Tube if allowed to watch without adult supervision? Too many.

3. "Cuz ya see, a democratic nation doesn't glorify war, killing,
blowing people apart, a democratic nation is peaceful, kind and gentle and it tries to impart that onto its younguns"... would make a nice quote.

4. Taxpayer money also goes to giving foreigners education, jobs, H1Bs...
That's far more sick, IMHO.

6. I've read long stories about this... one was in the Guardian I think?
Basically, the army brought in all sorts of video game bigshot types to get their input into making this into an effective game with effective marketing; patriotic or thrill-oriented game people gladly participated. A fair bit of money went into this, yeah. But I think it's more accurate to say it was developed with input from multiple major game companies rather than *a* big game company itself.

Still, that's not much of a nuance when you get down to it.
