Toledo gearing up for Nazi protest...

I just saw this report on Good Morning America--

TOLEDO, Ohio Dec 10, 2005 — Hundreds of police officers from across northern Ohio along with state troopers have been mobilized to guard against another riot fueled by a neo-Nazi rally.

Members of the National Socialist Movement planned to gather Saturday afternoon on the steps of City Hall. Two months ago, their planned march sparked a four-hour riot, in which businesses were burned and looted and bricks were thrown at police and an ambulance driver.

The violence scarred the city, prompting its leaders to examine race relations and efforts to combat gangs.

In October, the neo-Nazis said they wanted to protest gangs and rising crime in a Toledo neighborhood. This time, they say they want to protest how police and the city handled the October confrontation.

...5,000 protesting them. It happened in my hometown of Auburn, NY, 12 years ago. We literally chased the fuckers out of town!:thumbsup:

at least on the footage from last year. But of course, because it was primarily blacks, the news
and the police of toledo characterized it as 'inciting rioting.' If that's what they had to do
to get the point across that they wouldn't tolerate them in their community, I say throw another
brick at the bastards...

Sadly, it seemed more like the nazis got that people would get heated about their presence
and they were taking some sort of sick pleasure in that. They could kick back and say,
'see...see what those people do...' As if they would just tolerate their presence and not
make noise about it.

It should be illegal for them all to exist... I know about the constitution, blah, blah
but they exist to deny (and destroy) the existence of others. It's counter productive to
allow them, imo.

I understand freedom of speech but this just torches my ass.

I sat here watching the report this morning, wondering the exact same thing.
How is it that in America this is allowed to happen. Then my husband reminded
me of who is in office.

(sigh) Which isn't to say it wouldn't be allowed under other regimes, but it
wasn't as tolerated or even encouraged, like it has been under *. Anyone that
can look at the insanity of Katrina or the campaign of 2004 knows this guy isn't
pro-black, brown, beige or any other person of color. He's not pro-poor, he's not
pro-gay.

Watching this guy must make the Nazis and the kkk feel all warm and fuzzy inside...
