Trying to find Vietnam Quotes and Iraq Quotes side by side. Can you help?


I'm looking for a source for Quotes from politicians Dem and GOP from the Vietnam era about how it was winnable and stuff with parrallel quotes from prominent politicians today basically saying the same thing to use in an email to people.

Does anyone know of a source for this info? Has anyone collected such things?

1. In 1963, a tiger in the Saigon zoo pissed on the leg of US Ambassador
Henry Cabot Lodge. He reportedly uttered the supposed Confucianism, in high racist fashion, "He who wears the pee of the tiger is assured of luck in the coming year." I'm sure you can find a similar delusional quote from Bremer, Negroponte, or Rumsfeld. Michael Herr notes on the Cabot Lodge quotation, "Perhaps nothing is so unfunny as an omen read wrong."

2. Springer actually had a Nixon speech
with selected words replaced to reflect Iraq. It was remarkable. You can probably find it on his web site at AAR.
