Help me tear this freep a new one!
Edited on Sat Dec-10-05 03:29 PM by cry baby
I was on a high school volleyball board - the discussion turned to politics strangely enough:

FREEP:
I havn't voted since 1983, spent too much time abroad, doubt I'll stick around long enough to see who's the next president either, but I DO respect the office, and whom ever holds it.I don't believe in "good and evil", however in sport, there is a right and a wrong way of doing things, unlike art, which I'm guessing was your major.
I've got to go stand in front of the mirror for a little while and let myself fall back in love again, thanks Com for making my point like the ticked off leftist I thought you were, yall really need to find a new cause, and PLEASE don't make it volleyball, although I think the country would be better off if you did.You guys are going to have a hard time telling me I'm wrong in the future, I'm so powerful I can smell the words you write, and tell your race, creed, and religion, oh and Com, it's about time to change your oil on that 2002 white mini van.

One other thing, i've heard of compassion before, but you take the cake crying for those that have lost their lives "ON BOTH SIDES", we ARE at war with an enemy that will saw your childrens heads off with a pocket knife,

http://www.homestead.com/prosites-prs/

(scroll down to "know the enemy")
and will strike again, and again here in our homeland against the innonocent public, save your tears for our people, please have SOME respect for the rest of the country, and those that have fought in war to keep our country free for the past 200 years, your grandparents would be ashamed of you.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MY RESPONSE:

I know these political posts will get deleted, but I cannot let this tripe go without a response.
1. The office of the president is to be respected. The man has to earn it. I'm pretty sure you didn't respect Clinton after he lied about having sex.

2. We are not at war with the civilians of Iraq, yet pentagon estimates about 100,000 of them dead in a war that we started on false and faulty intel. Google PNAC or the Project for a New American Century. Their right wing objective was to invade Iraq - 10 years ago. Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Cheney, etc. were members of this powerful group.

3. Iraqis weren't cutting heads off of Americans until after we invaded their country. Are you aware that several detainees have been tortured to death by American interests - either soldiers or contractors that your tax $ pay? Which is worse?

4. I do cry for this country as well as the innocents that have died. BTW, I thought we were fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here...why do you think we will get hit again? Would it be because this administration hasn't taken seriously the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission and has implemented very few of those to make us safe? And "Bring it on" he says. The macho BS coming from the president is all for show - he isn't really a cowboy. He just bought the Crawford ranch just before he decided to run for office and he is afraid of horses.

5. You have no idea what ComPassion's grandparents would feel. The self-aggrandizing gaul you have is amazing. As for my family, my grandparents would be ashamed of this admin's actions in invading a country that was no threat to the United States. My grandparents would be protesting this admin because of their war actions, their tax cuts for the top .2% while at the same time cutting benefits for poor people, and the corruption that is so pervasive in our govt.

6. I am not going to go to the link you provide. I suspect it contains horrible images and we don't need to see this to know that some of these people hate us with a purple passion. How dare you put that on this board. I am sure that Judge will take care of us both by deleting this discussion.

7. If you are so powerful, as you state, and believe in this war...sign up and go help our men and women in uniform so they can be done faster and come home safe. Here is a link for you: http://www.military.com/Recruiting/Home/0,13387,,00.htm
Keep your head down! Don't get hurt because this admin has also cut veterans' benefits while you were gone. I also hope you are lucky enough to have the body armour that you need and that your vehicle is armoured up as well. Now - go fight for democracy!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Come on - have some fun!! Help me think of some other things!

3. Well,
"doubt I'll stick around long enough to see who's the next president either, but I DO respect the office, "

Doesn't seem to respect it enough to care who fills it, or how they behave.

5. Someone has to ask the obvious here, since no one else has
What is some freeper who hasn't voted since 1983 doing posting on a high-school volleyball message board?

That is all.

14. Here goes...

I havn't voted since 1983, spent too much time abroad, doubt I'll stick around long enough to see who's the next president either, but I DO respect the office, and whom ever holds it.

Why?

I wouldn't expect an anser to this question. None of you lot ever know the why of anything you do or believe.

I don't believe in "good and evil"

Oh, dear.

Well that's very silly. Good and Evil are old, solid, real things, my dear, far more long-lasting and active than any of their toys. There are many very pretentious lofty-sounding views held by poorly educated people all over the world and this is one of them. Do you believe in the number 6? Wednesday? What exactly do you think "belief" *is*?

however in sport, there is a right and a wrong way of doing things, unlike art, which I'm guessing was your major.

Ahhhhh...

Well there *is* a right and wrong way of doing art, in fact, as any good artist will tell you. And as, in fact, you already know. This is a thinly veiled attempt to link the opinions of your opponent with ideological inconsistency or pretentiousness which, from your first sentence, is a disease *you* seem to suffer from far more.

I've got to go stand in front of the mirror for a little while and let myself fall back in love again, thanks Com for making my point like the ticked off leftist I thought you were, yall really need to find a new cause, and PLEASE don't make it volleyball, although I think the country would be better off if you did.

This is a twisted insight. How to annoy a leftist? Tell the leftist you love yourself, beacuse the left prefer group dynnamics and sharing to selfishness, you percieve. But why are you going out of your way to irritate your opponent? Because you have nothing important to say, really, is the most likely answer.

Love yourself with all your might, darling. At this rate, very likely it's all you'll ever really have.

You guys are going to have a hard time telling me I'm wrong in the future, I'm so powerful I can smell the words you write, and tell your race, creed, and religion, oh and Com, it's about time to change your oil on that 2002 white mini van.

And were you correct in any of your assumptions, of what value would this be? Pathetic. Just pathetic. "Ner, ner, ner, you drive a white van. Ner, ner, ner. White. Van." So what?

You don't really care about anything do you? You're not really interested in HOW to do anything, either. You're just flapping your gums and your limbs around randomly reacting to the things on the inside of your own head.

You're not really talking to us. Are you? You're talking out loud to something on the inside of your own head. Like a mental patient.

GET INVOLVED, boy, ENLIST. M'Kay? You belieeeeeeve so many things maybe you should try the left's approach and see what happens when you stand up for them like a REAL man.

One other thing, i've heard of compassion before, but you take the cake crying for those that have lost their lives "ON BOTH SIDES", we ARE at war with an enemy that will saw your childrens heads off with a pocket knife

And here it is.

But, darling, why do *you* care about sawing children's heads off with a pocket knife? I thought you didn't belive in Good and Evil. Is it, perhaps "unsporting"?

This is an unresovable difference, I fear, between your side and ours. If you can't step back from the act and ignore the category the victim's in and view the act for what it is, you're lost. If it's more important to you that the victim's American than what really happened then all the opposition has to do to manipulate you is wave a flag in your face and you'll jump up and down like a puppy.

The world's big and old and real, darling, bigger and older and more real than America. An American bomber white phosphorusing women and children and Muslim terrorists cutting the heads of soldiers and contractors with pocket knives are really the same thing. Evil. What you don't get. And, because you don't get it, it will sniff you out and TAKE you out, which would be a bad thing. Trust me on this, Evil has an uncanny way of knowing who it's allowed to play with, and getting you to copy its tricks is it's favourite trick...
