Can't believe his wife is speaking on CNN. A courageous woman, who wants his legacy to be remembered. Rest in peace.

Thanks to Richard for all those rolling, peeing in the pants, tears streaming down the face laughs. I can hear all the great routines in my mind still. I wish he'd had never met Lady C.

He was the first black comedian I saw when I was a boy. He opened my 8 year old eyes.

Words can't express how much I love that man. His talent was enormous, from classic storytelling to saying the unsaid. He will be sorely missed.

In standup comedy and comic acting, he was the best.
My heart goes out to his family and friends. We have lost a true genius.

I want to express my sympathy to her and to the family.

Richard Pryor was a pioneer of comedy. He had a very clear social conscience and his political satire was pointed. He paved the way for a lot of artists today.

He was hilarious. He went through some weird stuff in his life.

I love Richard Pryor. His humor was brilliant. Sheesh, two in one day. Was it know he had problems or was this as sudden to everyone else as it just was to me???

RIP Richard Pryor, and thank you for all the laughs.

I have listened to Richard since I was a teenager, almost 30 years. He was the funniest man to ever live. He has been sick for a long time. Parkinsons I think it was. My blood froze when I read this thread. RIP Richard, and Mudbone, and Wino, and all the other people he brought to life.. :cry: :cry:

dearly departed, In other words the nigga dead. Whether or not you can survive

know has passed the ultimate test. Least of all this nigga layin here. Cuz this
boy wasn't shit, I'm gonna tell you that right off. I say him kickin his moma's
ass over ther on 47th street. And if you think we gonna ban you with those
diamonds and shit on you got another thing comin. I'd like to introduce the
boys woman, Oh bitch I dunno what she was. she's layin over ther in the booth.

the way he pronounces "sorrowful occasion" when he's doing that in the preachers voice. I'm sitting here now with a stupid mile long grin on my face. Guess it's time to go watch all the DVD's.

God, he was the best. Chris Rock is really good, but Pryor was the best.

It got me through college. My favorite line from the movie is when Pryor playing the grandfather told Pryor the father to butt out because "its twinsk the Mexicans and the white folks." Wait hold up their is the time when Reverend Good Night got run over by the tram and that one guy I'll call him "Harold Washington my feet" said "My oh my, flatter than day old beer." LOL

You will be missed.

In this world, I need people who have been thru serious shit and who have survived and done all they could to thrive. That is courage. Pryor had it.

a man that had a magnificent Social Conscience.

The world is a sadder place today.

He was definitely ahead of the curve and gave a lot more to the world than he ever got back in return.
