Idaho senator joins opposition to mining law change
And a very rare instance this is. Craig is tried and true anti-conservation. But that's how bad Pombo's public land garage sale is - it's so bad even folks like Idaho's Senator Craig oppose it!

"Craig is against allowing uses other than mining on land transferred from public to private ownership.

"Mining law and its reform should be used for producing the metals and minerals for our industrial base and that alone," Craig told The Idaho Statesman on Tuesday.

Besides Craig, three other Republican senators -- Wayne Allard of Colorado, Craig Thomas of Wyoming, and Conrad Burns of Montana -- have said they have questions about the effect the provision would have on Western lands."
