Repub lawyer suing to prevent N.O. election delay
Edited on Sun Dec-11-05 08:15 PM by rainbow4321
Uh-oh---how the hell can they do any election with their citizens spread around the country in shelters, etc?? Is this the beginning of well-off whites who are still there to out-vote the still displaced lower income evacuees??

Suit seeks to force scheduled election

BATON ROUGE, La. – A lawsuit filed Friday seeks to force Gov. Kathleen Blanco to hold elections in February, including New Orleans' mayoral primary, rather than putting them off because of damage from Hurricane Katrina. The suit was filed in Baton Rouge by lawyer and two-time congressional candidate Rob Couhig, on behalf of six New Orleans residents who Mr. Couhig said want the right to choose who will make decisions on rebuilding. Mr. Couhig said he thinks the city is capable of holding elections on time. Ms. Blanco's office had no comment.

Also from same link:

The number of verified deaths from Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana rose to 1,075 Friday, and the number of bodies found since the storm hit 1,098. Twelve of those deaths were unrelated to the storm.

1. Wow, I wonder why that could be?
Might it have something to do with the poor, minority voters who tend to support Democrats being spread across the country in a diaspora without the financial ability to return home or places to go?

Evil motherfuckers.

5. How bogus
The evacfugees can barely function. I guess they expect them to absentee vote. And hope they don't.
