Has anyone ever done poll of how many DU'ers are Female?

Let's go at it! And, this is not an "outing." Just reply to the poll and without comments who would know?

But I'm not telling how old I am. But I'm not as old as dirt. :)

but declared my 'independence' at 50. Decided I'd earned it - and it's pretty neat. Keep on keeping on!

I have never looked back. 50 was liberating. I love my fellow humans but I no longer have the time to worry about it all. I do what I do and try my best to be a good person and not hurt others and my eccentricities are just there and off limits to critique!

It's amazingly wonderful to be able to stop saying "I'm sorry" when you aren't- and have no reason to be. Like you, I don't and never have gone out of my way to hurt anyone. I just wanted to be able to breathe - and now I do.

I'm now 27; and I still say "I'm sorry" when I'm not. And I'm a little surprised there aren't more 20+ year olds. Where's Gen X?

whom I think are males...turn out to be FEMALES... I've kind of pegged it through my years on DU since 2001 that it could be as high as 3/4's of DU is really Female.

But, that just might be a misinterpretation on my part. Since most of us tend to go with certain Posts and Threads here and go with "like minds." :shrug:

But this poll is meaningless, if not fun: From what I understand, on this type of general forum (as opposed to more gender-centric forums like those concerning football, bass fishing, computer hardware, X-boxes, etc.), women dominate.

Wouldn't it be wise to get a relative measure? (That is some indication of how many males there are) Otherwise this is just an indication of the number of females in each age group. No inference can be made beyond that other then there being at least 30 some females here.

Old enough to know that the fairy tale is a lie, but young enough to still think we can make a difference.

Where the hell did the past 10 years of my life go? Seems like 1995 was just yesterday.

but at other times, I feel young. This past spring, I celebrated the 20th anniversary of my 29th birthday. In 2006, I will be looking down a very long hill.

As someone once said, "It's not the years that count, it's the mileage."

(And as someone else once said, "It's better than the alternative.")

However, having said that, I am proud to have grown up in the 60s. I might not have been old enough to really understand and enjoy them, but there is something to be said for being on the forefront of the feminist revolution, and appreciating everything that helped spur women forward during that era. For likely the first time in all of history, women were finally being taken more seriously, and we were ready to make leaps forward. It pisses me off nowadays with so many young people who take certain rights for granted, who are able to make decisions that our mothers could never make, and who fritter away those rights without understanding how difficult it was to get there in the first place.

Okay, off the soapbox now! :)

Ask for males and females on the SAME poll. You can ask for age breakdowns too.

and I thank you. I feel younger than my years partly because of working with younger people, and I just love being with people of all ages. There were ten siblings in my family, and my Mom always seemed to act young. Maybe the kids kept her feeling young.:hi: :hug:

I was questioning you. I know that there is over 82,000 users on DU so I couldn't understand how you would get an accurate poll. Then I figured if you are a male it would be a great way to talk to the ladies. There I go thinking again, good luck with the poll.

this doesn't appear to be an poll about the question asked in the title. As far as being a poll about women's ages here, well, it looks like the age range is....exactly what the general age range is for DU.

And may opt for a do-over next April. I like an age with a nickname attached. We older gals have a few tricks up our sleeves, don't we ladies?
