Why is MSNBC advertising "Porn" at DU NOW???
Of all times of the year? Is this some kind of dark conspiracy to make us here at DU look like we're involved in a "War on Christmas" agenda? :nopity:

You must admit, the timing is rather strange! ;-)

Now that's REALLY paranoid! I've seen that ad on . . .
Salon, DailyKos, a few others . . .

Damn, the VRWC is pernicious and really subtle.

They do monitor. I work in a law firm and have several "bosses" or at least bossy people. Not sure who I would define as my boss. But IT is aware, I am sure. :-)

3. Well aren't we involved in a "war on Christmas"?
Edited on Mon Dec-12-05 09:02 PM by Bluzmann57
I thought that was O'Reilly's schtick. As Stephanie Miller says, "War on Christmas, copyrighted by Fox news". The ad seems to be a bit passe, as porn has only been the internet since, oh I don't know, maybe about 1997 or so?

10. MSNBC needed more "evidence" than Fox...
So they created it!

Now DU, KOS and Salon are associated with "porn for the holidays", so all the Freepers will just "know" the War on Christmas is real!

14. MSNBC is Trash TV
between the Charles Manson stories etc. and all those celebrity bios, MSNBC is basically trash TV. KO, is the only decent show and that is a bit over-rated IMO.

9. It's JUST an ad.
It has nothing to do with any holiday or anything right-wing or left-wing. It has to do with MSNBC trying to advertise a story they are doing on porn and, in particular, the opening of Heidi Fleiss's brothel for women. If there's any political bias, it might be that, as liberals, we're more open minded about sex and stuff like that, so we're probably a better place to advertise than say the Christian Coalition's website.

13. hmmm..logic would dictate your premise is true, however...
I was struck by a rather odd juxtaposition of observations as I was running across I-70 in Missouri the other day. I noticed that the billboards could be divided into 3 basic classifications:
1. Fast food-gas -convenience outlets
2. Mega churches (Evangelical)
3. Triple-X emporiums

maybe Christian sites would be a good place to advertise dildoes...go figure....

16. After they go for the Triple-X they need FORGIVENESS
And the evangelical mega churches are right there to meet the need!

Maybe I should email MSNBC and suggest they send an investigative journalist to uncover the REAL roots of the "war on Christmas along I-70 in Missouri... :o

We just get ZooLights at the Phoenix Zoo and car dealers! Bummer.

And, yes, those Christians could really use some good sex toys!

36. Actually, those XXX were in Missouri....
don't recall ever seeing one in IA (not that there aren't XXX emporiums here). Don't even really see a lot for churches....mostly for fast food, convenience outlets, powerball, casinos and used car to cell phone dealers\providers....

Been doing a lot of driving lately, and noticing the same bland sameness of America....big box retail, fast food, acres and acres of ground stripped off and developed with "little pink houses for you and me" .....when there is a difference - as in Missouri...its kind of entertaining to take note and mull over.... why? Makes the miles go faster....

Why have some hookeresque thing dancing around on a political website?

I have to seriously question the wisdom of the admins on allowing this crap. I'm no prude, but if I want to see suggestive pictures, there are other places to go on the web
