Keith Olberman doesn't have a drivers license???
My idiot brother-in-law claims he doesn't have one.

Does anybody know if this is true?

5. I know many people who live in the city,
A lot of them don't drive, but still have a license.

BTW, I'm not knocking him if he doesn't have one, but I do find it strange.

2. If I lived in Manhattan
I probably would not either. Why pay for a license if you never drive?

3. Your idiot brother in law is correct. Due to a head injury (he bumped
his head badly while running to enter a subway car some time ago), Olbermann has no depth perception beyond 15 feet. Therefore, he can't get a driver's license.

We have enough people driving on the street who can't see past their nose

11. You're welcome. There's no shame in Manhattan to not having a
driver's license. I let mine lapse after I moved here from California (where you take your car to go around the corner).

10. Same here. Quality of life issue.
Years ago while living in Dallas I just said screw it and ceased driving myself around.

Works great for me.

13. After high school I realised I was a lousy driver
and took myself off the road.

I couldn't drive now even if I wanted to.

It works out fine for me as well. even here in a small town, the county has pretty good public transportation.

Chicago has a great system. You get to see the scenery, talk to or watch people, or read whenever you go the public transportation route. And cripes, but it's an entire world cheaper than a car.

Also have a bike, but don't use it as much in this rural area. I walk a lot.

I'm twenty-three but I'm planning on it. I do know how to drive (took a class not long ago with my younger brother) but I'm just so busy to find time to go down to the place and wait. They have this really weird and horrible system where they call out numbers in no particular order so you could be there for hours. One time the local news talked about it and one guy was there from 7:30am est and when they were doing the interview it was 12:30pm est and he hadn't moved anywhere. I just go to school and church and out to eat with my parents here and there and still live at home since my school is just five minutes away, so I don't really need one and parking at the school is a bitch.

18. Driving is cool. Just the act alone felt great.
There is something to be said for the sense of freedom it imparts, But I was a very, very bad driver.

Good luck getting in soon!

14. I remember hearing that one reason he didn't like ESPN
was that he had to be in Connecticut. Nice place but not so much public transportation.
