Richard, for better or worse, you made me laugh.

You somehow lifted me above human struggle. You suspended my fear and worry, allowing me to laugh at the confusion presented by my own life,...confusion that dragged my hopes and dreams down.

You were strong enough to make me laugh and did so in spite of your own personal struggles.

I embrace you, Richard, and celebrate your rare capacity to lighten my soul even when yours was so heavy.

Goodnight, Richard Pryor,...and a warm :hug: to you and your life. I know you are at rest. :hug:
