So, what has been happening in Australia?

I haven't read anything about it on DU, but had the local news on & they were talking about how a large mob of Aussies beat some Lebanese people. The Lebanese people were accused of being gang members, but did they do anything to deserve being attacked? I only caught the end segment of the story, so I really can't make any conclusions, but I hope there aren't racist FReeper types like that in Australia doing things like this.

Can someone give more info please?
