Senior citizens are really getting ripped off with this so-called "social
Edited on Tue Dec-13-05 01:20 AM by Blue_Roses
Security raise. Talked to my mother tonight who is on social security and even though she got a 4.1% raise, her Medicare costs went up $25! She said that if she had gotten that prescription benefit plan it would have gone up $35! This administration is raking our seniors over the coals. They should be ashamed of this sham.

If you know of someone on Medicare and Social Security, make sure they know the changes and how if affects them.

1. Maybe the darned old fools will stop voting Repuglican
just because the Repugs gave them minor tax breaks on their investments, if they have them.

Clinton lost the senior vote when he started taxing the social security benefits of the well to do. I'm just waiting for them to notice that Supid kept that tax!

3. My mom voted for Kerry
Clinton and Gore. She's very smart and knows bullshit when she sees it.

4. I agree it's gotten worse, but it's been that way for a long time.
I'm 3 years away from going on SS, and my hisband is 2 years away. I've been paying a lot of attention to what has been going on. ShrubCo has made it worse, but the annual increases have been reduced by increases in the monthly cost for a very long time.

6. I think they take about 1/2 of it back every year
That's what I've been told by senior friends.

7. I already got my Christmas goose.
Both my Medicare and Medigap have gone up three times more than my SS raise, so I will have less money than ever in 2006.

I don't know what seniors will do if our Democrats don't do something about this.

8. I agree
and maybe after the Tookie threads have subsided, we can get back to these particular issues that are hurting Americans of all race and ages.

9. My Medigap also went up $18.00. That little
"raise" we got was nothing. The Medicare drug program is only to help out the pharmaceutical industry.
