What ever happens in that dark alley is a figment of YOUR imagaination , not mine. I've encounted Crips (Hells Angels, too) and emerged unscathed. Maybe even the better for it.

I don't celebrate. But I find more tears for old people in nursing homes who drowned because nobody gave a shit. I find more tears for little kids standing over the bodies of their dead parents.

The death of Tookie is not worse because he turned out to be a nice old man who wrote books and preached non-violence. He is not Mahatma Tookie. And I'm not sure why his death is being elevated as being MORE heinous than the ones I listed.

My opposition to the carrying out of the death penalty is much the same as my opposition to parenting licenses: sounds like a good idea except it's *our* government in charge. I got real tired of hearing about St Tookie. Either the death penalty itself is unjust or the system that carries it out is; arguing the varying degrees of saintliness of the rapists and murderers (St Tookie committed rapes against fellow inmates) under that sentence is a piss-poor way of making either case.

If you read the rules (which I doubt you have), you would see that if you have a greivance or complaint about DU in general, about actions of the mods, or about actions of other posters, there's a neat little feature called "Email Admin" and you can explain to them why you think your posts were unfairly locked, and why your personal attacks were unfairly deleted, and why your flamebait posts unfairly disappeared from the screen.

By the way--I hope you're not accusing the moderators of bias. THey could give a shit. Their job is to enforce the rules. THey don't make them, they just enforce them.

And I am just about 100% anti-DP which is why I said guilty verdict not sentence. After seeing the heartless and soulless display of the Tookie supporters on this board the last few days, I find it very difficult to muster any sympathy for Tookie. But, I can always feel sympathy for the 4 people he murdered and their families. May they find peace.

There are a couple of DUers who need a mandatory time-out tonight. I can't understand why people who actually knew Mr. Williams are standing at San Quentin right now, in peace and reverence, recognizing that this is a somber event. Yet there are two or three DUers who have never met Mr. Williams, who never even heard of him until two weeks ago, who are fomenting cyber-riots right now. They are making it all about themselves--and doing it just for attention. I hope the mods give them some rightly deserved attention by feeding them granite sandwiches soon.
