Justice Has Been Served
The system works.

CNN says that "tookie" has been pronounced dead, and his victims can now rest in peace, and the families of those victims can live on with a sense of justice and closure.

The victims of this killer are in my prayers.

Albert Owens

Yen-I Yang

Tsai-Shai Yang

Yee-Chen Lin

1. Nonsense.
There is no closure for a murdered person's family.

Tookie is dead...

That's all!

Unless you have reports that his victims have risen from the dead?

Capital punishment is evil and barbaric.

17. Really? All of them?
There are many more people convicted of murder in the US than sentenced to death. Are you suggesting that the death penalty is not applied enough in this country?

7. What about the family members that didn't want him killed?
Edited on Tue Dec-13-05 03:43 AM by Quixote1818
It's a fact that some of the several victims family members were against him being put to death.

How on earth can you claim to speak for them? It's really not your place under any circomstances unless it was your family.

you failed to mention the wishes of the family members of the others three who were killed.

See the post below: "Rhandi reported yesterday that one of the victims wives forgave him. The death penalty needs to be banned from this country forever!"

29. Yep, it's always the imaginary faeries that are all for killing people
along with those who start Religions. I'm glad I don't pray or perhaps I would start wishing death on people too.

14. In your prayers?
That's pretty presumptuous, don't ya think? Most of Owens' family didn't support the execution at all and will find no sense of justice or closure in it, only more death and grief and suffering to some other family. I haven't heard anything from the Yang family, they apparently have managed to find some closure without this. These people have exhibited the real meaning of spirituality, they don't need your prayers. And they sure didn't ask you for them.

Killing a fifth person does absolutely nothing towards bringing back the four already dead.

27. I am...
It doesn't mean that I can't have thoughts, meditations, and yes, prayers for people that I feel deep sorrow or care for. You know that I am not the most strident Atheist when it comes to terminology. We met over that fight that Atheists can or can't proselytize.

How come our paths haven't crossed lately?

32. I've not been here.
Life's tough enough and I come back tonight to see people gleefully celebrating a man's death.

I thought I was transported to the OTHER site by accident.

When I see an atheist praying, I know something is wrong.
