FauxNews Coverage of Tookie Williams Execution - Atrocious
It does not matter if you are pro or anti death penalty when it comes to this "news" networks live coverage of this issue. It shows exactly how terrible their reporting is.

For example, instead of being a "fair and balanced" reporting network, almost every sentence was filled with loaded words and phrases. The male reporter actually said something like, "The criminal Tookie Williams is dead."

Each time the woman reporter spoke of celebrities speaking out on this issue, she made it sound like they only were speaking out on Williams' case instead of being full fledged anti-death penalty opponents.

God, this channel is truly Right Wing TV.

1. To add...
when they got to problems with the execution FauxNews cut away.

My point in this post is I love great journalism and great reporting and telling the facts is telling the facts. FauxNews is not reporting.

Edited on Tue Dec-13-05 03:53 AM by leftstreet
FAUX doesn't run a toll-free number at the bottom of screen for donations.

edit: because I can't seem to spell tonight.

7. Not yet anyways
One day it'll happen probably. Their "reporters" have enough shit to sell.

8. CNN is giving good coverage....
like I typed, good journalism is a must in stories like this. CNN is letting the entire witness list speak freely. I was flipping back and forth and quit when FauxNews went back to their reporter when one of the witnesses was reporting that the people inserting one of the IVs was having trouble doing so.

I'm not exaggerating - as soon they hit this first witness reporting the problems it was back to the reporter out front of the prison.

CNN should be commended for letting the witnesses speak.

5. Faux is always worse during live coverage
When their reporters don't have a carefully worded script in front of them, their coverage tends to skew even farther to the right.

9. I was watching Fox when the Michael Jackson verdict came down.
Gasps of surprise from the staff were heard and my jaw dropped when Shepard Smith editorialized with the shouted words "You are a FREAK" when the video showed Jackson en route to Neverland. But Fox gets by with this stuff. Why?
