Saudi prince gives Sharon 'benefit of doubt' (... and CHANGES FOX NEWS!)

Buried at the end of this article is this little Ishtar egg...
Saudi prince [al-Walid bin Talal] gives Sharon 'benefit of the doubt' for peace
First Published 2005-12-05, Last Updated 2005-12-05 12:32:48

...

He said that during last month's street protests in France, the US television network Fox -- owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation in which Al-Walid himself has shares -- ran a banner saying: "Muslim riots."

"I picked up the phone and called Murdoch... (and told him) these are not Muslim riots, these are riots out of poverty," he said.

"Within 30 minutes, the title was changed from Muslim riots to civil riots."

So who's bin Talil? Here's a fun fact:
...

Talal gained notoriety after 9/11 when he blamed U.S. policies for the terrorist attacks.

I like this great "asnide" from the comments accompanying the Think Progress blog entry:

In a swipe at FOX News’s chairman and propaganda minister, my pal Gene Gaudette (who was talking about this nasty little story earlier today) quipped that “FOX News should change its name to ‘Ailes Jazeera!’”

1. I've heard this guy is not all bad
According to the Wikipedia page on him, he supports women's rights (The only female pilot in Saudi Arabia is on his payroll) and he has said statements that indicate that he is opposed to the Ultra-Conservatism in Saudi Arabia.

2. The concern is not his politics, but that Fox changed the headline
at his request. In the best light, Fox may have made the change because they saw their error, when the prince pointed it out, but I don't believe a word of what I just wrote.

3. The fact is
Fox showed it is under the control of the Shareholders and Corporations. Not the facts nor news.

I mean I don't think we didn't already know that, but here is actual (heresy) proof.
