No Happy Ending For Jenna Bush

Jenna Bush’s infamous ID-gate videotape is raising more questions than the Zapruder film. According to a source who has seen the footage—which features a self-described downtown coke dealer relating his late-night run-in with the First Daughter, and brandishing her wallet (stuffed with over $1,000 in cash) and college ID as souvenirs—the man insinuates that the two shared more than just drinks.

A well-informed source, who has a DVD copy of the interview shot by tbirdshow.com’s Travis Poston, says that at one point the dealer claims that the young, blonde Jenna Bush with the Texas accent he hung out with that night (and who happened to leave behind Jenna Bush’s belongings) had been “helping (him) clean up” the bar after a long night of partying. (A publicist for First Lady Laura Bush has unequivocally denied that her daughter has ever been to the Chinatown bar, Happy Ending, even though we hear the UT-Austin ID card displayed in the film clearly shows the hard-partying political liability’s name, picture and student ID number.)

The Secret Service are reportedly taking the tape seriously enough to investigate, and they’re not the only ones. When Fresh Intelligence emailed tbirdshow.com about securing selected clips to host on this site, we received the following curt response: “There are about ten top papers fighting for that footage. Get in line.” Needless to say, “if a coke dealer has your ID it doesn’t look so good,” quipped the source.

Apparently, the affable salesman doesn’t limit his company to presidential offspring. “He brags on camera that he’s down with all the members of Interpol,” our source says. “And everybody in the club that walks by in the video says ‘hi’ to him.” Reps for Bush and Interpol could not be reached by press time.

are hereditary. Bush & Laura had an opportunity to address these tendencies when they were children. Now they will be addressing them for years to come. Hopefully these girls will eventually be ok. I just hope they don't find one of them drunk or on drugs passed out in an alley one morning.

I have finally reached "not poor" for a few years, but I'll be retiring soon and joining the ranks of the poor again I would think.

My cousin was 15-pounds overweight for her teen years, then lost it, got married and fought the rest of her life to keep it off. She was always very quick to diss anyone who was 2 pounds, 5 pounds, 10 pounds or more overweight. Her daughter now suffers from serious anorexia - began feinting during high school because she wouldn't eat; didn't want anyone to think she was fat. Her mother just couldn't understand why...

My mother weighed 98-pounds her entire life and gave me shit my entire young life for being 5-10 pounds overweight. To escape her criticism I decided I didn't give a shit what she thought and gained 60 pounds. Been fighting to get back to a healthy weight ever since.

I am fine with attacks on Jenna for her behavior -- not her plenty thin enough legs which would carry her around just fine on the ground in Iraq.

It is actually poignant that Jenna's legs look so good when Ben's leg doesn't anymore (at least not right now).

Jenna has done nothing to deserve her notoriety other than to be her parents' daughter. There are girls all over the US for whom this would not even make local news.

The fucking hypocrisy is staggering. If we can 'wink and nod' at the Bush family's escapades with regards to illegal substances, we can damn well stop spending upwards of $40 billion a year on a bullshit 'drug war' and stop locking up millions of people for non-violent drug offenses.

The "kids are off limits" debate has been a staple of DU for as long as I've been here.

The tipping point, for me, was when the Bush "kids" actively and consciously became engaged in the campaign to re-elect their father. All of a sudden they weren't Chelsea Clinton trying to live a "normal" life outside the glare of the media spotlight...they were Bush-Cheney 04 CAMPAIGN WORKERS.

I immediately took them off of "off limits" status.

For the record, I believe that substance abuse is NOT a laughing matter. The main part of this story that I wanted to get across is the denial...just like Laura's police records were vaporized after the car crash that killed her boyfriend, just like Junior's A.W.O.L. past and his little buddy Alberto Gonzales sealing his DUI records...the Bush Family method of dealing with problems is to deny the problem. That makes it go away, then it no longer exists. Or so they believe. So far, it hasn't stopped their progress.

Sorry, Jenna Bush is no longer a child, even if she is totally irresponsible. While she is scoring coke, drinking, partying, or whatever the hell she does with her time, our American troops are being killed and maimed in Iraq. Their parents, children, spouses, and families will NEVER be the same. Those parents won't get to "unequivocally deny" anything.

She is now 23. Many of the young people being killed in Iraq are 18 and 19. I find no reason to cut her ANY slack whatsoever.

Who cares if he has her ID? He could have gotten it any number of ways. Famous people lose their ID and cell phones and what not all the time. An admitted drug dealer is not a very credible source.

It does me think that there might be more to the story that is being hushed up. I don't generally care about first children's activities unless there is a serious crime involved and/or indication of negligent or abusive parenting. If Bushco is covering something up, I hope it comes out. We've seen what happens when members of that family get away with youthful "indiscretions".

I won't hold her daddy's sins and flaws against her. I'd rather hold something else against her.
