I am talking about the extremists who think that somehow their gun "protects" them from the "government".
Many of these wackos then turn around and support the very segment of government that they would have to fight against someday. The military, police, prisons, etc...
How many gun nuts look skyward when a fighter jet passes over and think that it is "cool".
Don't they know that is their future, potential enemy?

They think their guns will protect them against, oh I don't know, tanks, planes and nukes. B-) I don't know why they think in the event of a civil war, which is insane to anticipate anyway (yeah, Congress wants to go house to house killing people) the government would respond with less than full might, in order to give the gun nuts a better chance. :crazy:

NeoCONS and criminals love unlimited gun rights and it puts pressure on a civilized society to devolve to their level.

"Gun Nuts" fantasies vary wildly. From a single paranoid holed up in his mini-fortress (which a jet could take out easily with a single smart bomb or cannon pass) to fighting Rambo style through the woods (against which a jet is totally impotent), to full fledged Civil war or common uprising against a black helicopter weilding "evil regime," in which large segments of the military break with the government to fight on the nutjobs side.

IF the "wackos" are right, and if their evil regime is smart and patient, they will be kept marginalized (by calling them "wackos", for example) and be plucked off one by one by local police and SWAT teams. No jets or black helicopters needed.

Read any extremist gun nut magazine or web site and you can see that exact viewpoint expressed. They are all hoping that their personal "last stand" will be the one that wakes America up. Fearing and yet waiting in anticipation for the jack boots to kick down their door.

Suddenly, though, these people who swore their hatred for America and tried to separate from the country are now pro-government and think that the government should be bigger.

Hell, many of them are pro-torture.

Hey, GOP dumbass, two questions:

If you are such a skilled combat expert and are so good with weapons, and if you apparently love this country so much (suddenly), why not get your ass in the military and defend the country in Iraq?

and, two

Back in 1995, when you and your buddies were drawing up plans to firebomb your local post office in "protest", how would you have felt if President Clinton had the FBI raid your compound, arrest you all as terrorists, and torture you just for shits and giggles?

I think this kind of mental inconsistency is rampant in amerika and shows up in all kinds of people.
