Daily Show suicide
from Gawker:

Sad News Hits the Fake News
READ MORE: daily show, top, tv
We got cranky last night when we discovered The Daily Show was a rerun. Now we feel bad about that.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) — An employee of the Comedy Central program “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” has committed suicide, leading the network to suspend production of Monday night’s episode of the program, a spokesman confirmed.

Bill Clarey, 25, took his own life over the weekend, according to the network. A former “Daily Show” intern, Clarey also worked as a receptionist at the program’s offices in New York.

1. Oh, I expected another snarky "jon is losing his edge" post. Poor Bill!
Poor family and friends left behind.

2. I read they were bringing in
grief counselors when the staff returns. This really hit them hard.

Suicide is so hard on those left behind. Everyone thinks they could/should have done/seen more. They recall every time they were short with the person. Grief is mixed with guilt and even anger.

Bless them all.

4. Wonder if he was bipolar
Sometimes the manic side helps to produce brilliant comedy, but the depressive side is brutal.

5. we were disappointed that it
was a replay, now understandimng it all. 25.....that is very young...very sad. Suicide hits the family hard. My grandfather, even at 89, was burdened by his mother's suicide.
