NEW ZOGBY: Bush Approval Fades Again to 38%
Released: December 13, 2005
Bush Job Approval at 38%

After edging above 40%, it fades again

President Bush’s job approval rating languishes under 40%, despite an upturn in the economy and a public relations onslaught defending the role of the U.S. military in rebuilding Iraq, a new telephone poll by Zogby International shows.

Just 38% of Americans said they approve of the job the President is doing, down from 41% in a national Zogby America survey conducted last month.

The survey showed Mr. Bush is most popular in the western United States, where 46% approve of the job he is doing, and the South, where 44% approve. Just 28% in the East and 37% in the Midwest and Great Lakes states give him good marks.

People were less critical of the President personally. Asked whether they had a favorable overall impression of Mr. Bush, 49% agreed, including 58% of westerners and 56% of southerners.

1. He sent out that damned "Happy Holidays" card
and sent the christo-fascists in heavy overdrive. . .their white christian nation is at stake and their warrior President let them down in the decisive War on Christmas campaign.

9. "Is there something Bush ever did that you agreed with?"
We always get hassled with that question by Bushbots accusing us of being blinded by hatred for their leader.

Well, I agree with him sending out a card that says Happy Holidays. So there.

that these people might just be catching on to Dubya, and the GOP, and Karl Rove promising and not delivering Happy Holidays

which are going back up. Also, I'll be getting my first heating bill soon. And no, the Iraqi elections won't do a damn thing, Brit Hume.

5. The majority of that 38%
are either religiously insane or members of the kkk who would "approve" of bush's performance even if he were caught having sex with an eight year old boy in the oval office. They have no shame, no moral compass and are incredibly ignorant as a group. And proud of the fact that they ain't booksmart.

44. The only reason it went up to 40% was ...
... he brought the last 2% of right-wing nut jobs back into the camp. Right now, the people who approve of George Bush are Republicans - he has no support in the center, and certainly none on the left (unless that's where you place Joe Lieberman).

7. I'd like to see a poll of historians on the Bush presidency.
A current one, taken since Harriet Miers, say.

Their rankings and remarks would be revealing.

Buchanan. Harding. Nixon. Dubya.

That grouping sounds about right.

32. Good point.
I do feel that Dubya has betrayed the spirit and letter of the Constitution, maybe because he's never read it.

I'm not even sure he CAN read it.

41. The 'fake' cowboys annoy the hell out of me
We've got a few in my area too. There are some real blue-collar rednecks out here, and I've never had a problem with any of them. You can tell the difference between the real ones and the fake ones though. Just look at the trucks. Big shiny truck without a spot of dirt on it... fake redneck. Beat-up truck with tools in the back... real redneck. And the real rednecks are usually pretty nice people. I had one stop at 3 in the morning on a fairly back area type road to help me change a blown tire. Not many people would do that.

45. You meet all kinds in the backwoods, don't you?
One time I was walking down a desert road just killing time while some
patching material dried on my gas tank. A small older car came along, and
the drive rolled down his window. "Do you need a ride?" I told him I was
fine, and thanked him for stopping.

A couple of hours later an enormous brand new pickup truck drove by (slowly,
so as to minimize dust). The driver wouldn't make eye contact as he drove by.
He called out: "I have a gun!"

Bush Step Down, and Take Your Whole Program With You!

http://worldcantwait.net/flier/nyt.pdf

http://www.worldcantwait.org/

Your government, on the basis of outrageous lies, is waging a murderous and utterly illegitimate war in Iraq, with other countries in their sights.

Your government is openly torturing people, and justifying it.

Your government puts people in jail on the merest suspicion, refusing them lawyers, and either holding them indefinitely or deporting them in the dead of night.

Your government is moving each day closer to a theocracy, where a narrow and hateful brand of Christian fundamentalism will rule.

Your government suppresses the science that doesn't fit its religious, political and economic agenda, forcing present and future generations to pay a terrible price.

Your government is moving to deny women here, and all over the world, the right to birth control and abortion.

Your government enforces a culture of greed, bigotry, intolerance and ignorance.

13. Poll: Only 38% Of People Still Have Their Asses.
That's what the headline should have read. The article could then describe in detail how roughly half of the country still had their heads up their asses on election day 2004, but that number has been steadily decreasing.

16. recent poll variations look like noise around a 39-40% center
I think the dip to a 35% center was due mostly to the post-hurricane rise in gas prices, which have since returned to their subsidized norms.

40% is it. The only thing that really gives us is that the GOPers won't be having him campaign for them in the 2006 general elections.

Big layoffs still in progress in America. Heating bills going sky high. Every item we consume costs more ever penny the fuel goes up. SHOW ME THE MONEY MR BUSH... The "GOOD" economy is a pack of lies too just like the reasons for going to Iraq. Lies is the only thing you can count on out of Bushco!

Ask the people at GM, or the Airline pilots how the God Damned Economy is, if you want to hear the fuc?ing truth!

The GOOD economy is another Karl Rovian Mirage!

35. The line should be Zogby +2
If I see a Zogby poll about Bush I add 2 pts to it. Zog polls tend to deflate his support a bit so I'd guess Bush is holding steady at 40%.

38. This is bad news....
I hate to be raining on a parade, but Did you look at the bottom of the Zoghby poll? Harry Reid's approval is just 13% while Nancy Pelosi's is just 20%.

I think they're both doing a terrific job, but why do you think it is that the public is not approving of them? My guess is that since we are a minority in both chambers, we can't get anything passed. We also really don't have a forum to get our message out to the people other than cable news, which is horribly biased against us.

We need to turn this around before the '06 elections.

Any ideas?
