Does anybody know WHY Bush released the Happy Holidays card?

IT was because the same card was sent to over 200 leaders in the international community. There was no way he was going to risk offending leaders of other nations by pushing Christianity down their throats. He has enough problems in teh international community as it is.

1. The same reason that all presidents sionce JKK (I think) have sent Holiday

cards. Why would the White House deliberately offend people of other religions by wihing them Merry Christmas. Even Bush's people are not that stupid.

8. I got to use the autopen for John Kerry during the campaign.

I worked at the DC HQ, and when I needed a database and/or rapid response break, I would sign thank you letters and cards-- either Senator John Kerry, John Kerry, or John-- depending on how big the donation was.

I loved the autopen!

I looked it up and the first one, sent in 1927 by Calvin Coolidge, said "Season's Greetings."

I agree with you. However, I don't think there was ever a chance it would say anything but Happy Holidays. Maybe a peppy "season's greetings!" instead, but it's the same thing really.

I'm sure he has little or nothing to do with it one way or another, nor would he want anything to do with it. And for once, I can't say I blame him.

edit: I don't think this is unique to Georgie. I mean, my boss doesn't even see the cards we send out for the business.
