Pregnant Skydiver Survives Plunge
"So not only did God save me but he spared this baby," Richardson said.

Richardson, 21, of Joplin, Mo., was making her first solo jump in Siloam Springs, Ark., on Oct. 9 when her main parachute failed and her reserve chute didn't fully deploy.

Richardson was falling at about 50 mph when she hit face first in a parking lot. Badly injured, but alive, Richardson spent 16 days in a hospital.

1. So I guess the devil was responsible for the chute not opening
properly.

2. If I recall my basic physics correctly, you almost always survive
the "plunge" part of this type of thing.

It's the extremely rapid deceleration when you contact that high-drag area known as the lithosphere that does you in.

I'm happy to see she survived that part of it, too.

3. She must love that sport. She's going back after the baby is born.
"I went into the first surgery where they cut me from ear to ear and they cut my face down and they took out all the fractured egg-shelled bones and put in steel plates," Richardson said.

During treatment, doctors found that Richardson was pregnant, which was a surprise to her.

She said she would not have jumped had she known she was pregnant."

4. If I lived through that, I'd chalk it up to God as well.
Badly injured or not, she really should have died.

They discovered that while treating her in the hospital.

9. If god was involved, he was responsible for the chute too?
I guess god WANTED her to fall to the ground, face first. Instead of thanking god she was spared, maybe she should look into her life and see why god punsihed her.

I think its all BS to begin with(I'm an Aetheist), just for the record.

13. Relax, willya, Bunky?
A lot of people just use "God" as the "default variable" in the great mass of source code of their brain.

Besides, haven't you ever been in bed with anyone, doing The Nasty, and one or both of you cried out "Oh, God!"

Actually, I was once dating a staunch Humanist. When she got going, she'd call out, "Occam! Occam!" But, wisely, I think, I decided not to try pushing her out of an aircraft without a chute.

Do you know how many woman are able to do the same? Why do they act like her pregnancy is such a miracle? And you didn't think this was a Christian, child-centric society! Ha!
