There was no doubt who the star of MSNBC's coverage of the Stanley "Tookie" Williams execution was last night. With her dominatrix jacket and sandpaper voice, anchor Rita Cosby (or "Throaty McHuskington," as Jon Stewart calls her) was chosen to be one of 17 media representatives to witness Williams' execution. And neither she nor MSNBC was about to let you forget it at any time during prime time hours.

5. Why don't they make her straighten out her voice?

A lot of networks make their anchors and reporters flatten out their accents. She is a good looking woman, but I don't know why she's allowed to get away with sounding like a foghorn.

although it sounds low, it really sounds more like she's had some kind of sinus problem. Her voice actually goes up through the turbinates of her sinus'.

7. I think she's trashed her vocal cords

I used to know a woman who sounded like that all the time who'd been a cheerleader in high school and college. She'd more or less yelled herself into having a permanently unappealing voice.
