Condi's mad the rest of the world won't help manipulate Saddam's trial
Edited on Tue Dec-13-05 05:08 PM by bigtree
WASHINGTON (AFP) - US Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice bitterly accused the world community of boycotting the trial of deposed Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and doing little to help prosecute him.

>>>> . . . after praising world support for UN resolutions on Iraq, she said, "I'm sad to say that the international community has barely done anything to help Iraq prosecute Saddam Hussein."

"The international community's effective boycott of Sadadam's trial is only harming the Iraqi people who are now working to secure the hope of justice and freedom that Saddam long denied them," Rice said.

>>>>The US has invested some $US128 million ($169.8 million) to train and equip the judges and lawyers in the trial against Saddam and the others on charges of crimes against humanity, according to Human Rights Watch.

3. The phrase about the money should be clarified
The US has invested some $US128 million ($169.8 million) to train and equip the judges and lawyers in the trial against Saddam and the others on charges of crimes against humanity, according to Human Rights Watch.

Add the following sentence to make the statement reflect reality in Iraq.

Of the 128 million invested only 1 million went to training and equipping judges and the rest was split between Halliburton and Chalabi or has been misplaced.

5. Dear Condi,
Seeing how the world didn't fall for your faux war, why would you think we would fall for your faux trial? We didn't fall for your faux explanation on 'extraordinary rendition' nor your obfuscation on the torture of detainees by the U.S. To put it simply, you went in alone based on lies, now you are choking on them, enjoy!

The world (as I see it,anyhow)

6. Well Condi.....
The world recognized a long time ago -the need to prosecute war criminals......and we have a court for that.......too bad you refuse to recognize it. Even worse - you deliberately undermine the international courts power by refusing aid to any who sign onto it.

7. Why won't them crazy foreigners support the trial of the leader
of a once sovereign state within said state's occupied borders?

It's such a mystery, Condi.
