From what I've seeing, it's not.

1. I'm not a big fan of either.
I don't trust either to act in my interests.

2. I'm a lot more afraid of big business than i am of big government.
I guess that's why I'm a Democrat.

8. at least in theory, a govt can be placed in check directly by voters if it
overruns its own authority. In theory.

However, a corporation is in the catbird seat, not ONLY is it one step removed from direct voter interference (voters have to influence lawmakers in order to restrict their excesses), but it is free to bribe said lawmakers through lobbying (indirectly) and directly bribing them to further insulate their interests. And, as long as bribes are sufficient, voters might never know of the excesses in the first place to demand their control in the second place.

as exhibit A, I present Halliburton. By bribing and influence swindling, they are given no bid govt. contracts, and the voter has no say. They can overrun the budget, and the voter has no say. they can make 9 billion dollars just disappear and there is no oversight and no govt agency willing to investigate its loss. They are so insulated, that for the voters to affect them, several things would have to happen favorably: The corrupt politicians would have to be caught and stopped. The contracts would have to be investigated and found fraudulent. Corporations would have to be indicted and convicted, but not just the individuals, the corporation would have to be halted from future contracts.

as we all know, Halliburton was found GUILTY of defrauding the govt, not once, but many times over, AND YET they still garner plum contracts to the tune of billions.

corporations are the greatest evil capitalism ever produced, when enmeshed with corrupt lawmakers. the combination is lethal.

10. Thinking inside the box is the worst possible sin.
Of course, never thinking inside it means we're less likely to conform and be of use to those who control and operate society. Still, nobody's perfect. :7

9. Big Corporation is
Big Government with a slightly different paradigm. Where we are currently screwed is that the Govt. Minimalists have pushed major services such as provision of health insurance and retirement benefits into the laps of their Big Corp. persona. Now that persona is trying to ditch the liabilities and the people are getting screwed.
Even worse, the BushCo people have planted themselves on all of these presidential secret groups and they are in on making the decisions that will definitely pay off in their corporate roles. We don't get any check or balance on this because the Executive is simply exercising his privileges.
