Another Nixonian blunder for Bush...
...Bush gets worse all the time...

Back in 1970 Richard Nixon embarrassed himself, and sent his staff into a spin frenzy, by declaring Charles Manson guilty....while he was on trial.
One of the L.A. papers -- not the Times,I think it was the defunct Herald Tribune (?) ran a banner across the top of the front page..."Manson Guilty, Nixon Declares."
The next day Manson sneaked a copy into the courtroom. When the jury came in, he held it up. All of the jurors saw it.Manson's attorneys demanded a mistrial, claiming that the word of the Presidentof the U.S. would certainly prejudice the jury.
they didn't get it.
But Nixon's staff was in high gear for a couple of days with "what the president meat was..."

Now Bush declares Delay innocent. Where is the uproar.
I think it will come. But it should have come long ago.

1. Uproar
Unfortunately, I think too many people may have a difficult time connecting the potential implications of a mistrial in the case of a man who committed the most horrendous murders of their time compared to a guy "who is a money launderer but is has good intentions regarding gawd, guns, and gays, tax breaks etc etc."

2. The press of today isn't the press of 1970.
Nothing different will happen.

3. W has no protocol
He thinks he is above such things. He will wield his power as he wishes and the hell with decency or protocol. He has the power and uber arrogance in using it.

4. I love what they keep saying... We can't comment on an ongoing
legal case. He's not guilty.
