No really buy Pepsi

I received this in an e-mail today. I don't know if Pepsi really has this new can or not but I hope they do. Of course I replied I would do the opposite a boycott.

DON'T BUY PEPSI IN THE NEW CAN!


Don't buy Pepsi in the new can. Pepsi has a new "patriotic" can coming out with pictures of the Empire State Building, and the Pledge of Allegiance on them. However, Pepsi left out two little words on the pledge, "Under God."



Pepsi said they didn't want to offend anyone.



In that case, we don't want to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate office, either! So if we don't buy any Pepsi product, they will not be offended then they don't receive our money that has the words "In God We Trust" on it.

My friend sent me a very similar e-mail last year. It's a hoax. They've done cans with the flag before, but not with the Pledge, and not with the words 'under god.' It was never removed because it was never even planned. And of course, the 'In God We Trust' is that unconstitutional crap from McCarthy.

Even if this dumb story were true...so what? Pepsi decides not to say 'under god,' that ends your life? Pepsi was generally not taken to preaching religion on their cans in the first place, and they have no obligation to do so. Religious people who bought Pepsi before, were already buying cans that did not say 'under god,' so they're not missing or losing anything!

Why are people eager to believe that somebody wants or needs to say something about religion on a friggin' soda can? If you are religious, do you really want your beliefs trivialized by putting them on a soda can?

Yeah. Because Pepsi is going to follow you around and put you in special Pepsi jail if you say 'under god.'

People who believe in silly chain-mail crap need to get help.
