Oh, The Irony!
While morons are calling into Washington Journal castigating dems and liberals because we were "wrong" given the "Great Day" in Iraq, almost every paper also has a story about a Congressional investigation reagarding domestic spying.

So, while the cretins are celebrating the "transformation in the Middle East" (never mind that there are already two major democracies in the middle east, and that hasn't fomented change), we find that the country doing the celebrating is SPYING ON ITS OWN PEOPLE!

Of course, the bushbots on the Journal fail to grasp the irony. But, that should come as no surprise to any of us. So, let me make it clear for our less gifted conservative lurkers: WE CANNOT SPREAD DEMOCRACY WHILE, AT THE SAME TIME, DILUTING ITS BASIC PREMISE! The gov't is "OF THE PEOPLE" and spying on one's own citizens is the antithesis of democracy!

I hope some of those who accept the official stories and don't take enough time to use their natural gifts of reason, do so and realize what a farce the whole Iraqi "victory" really is.

1. These nimrods have no clue
Wait a month and then tell me how successful the vote was! It's like buying a lottery ticket and going mansion shopping before the drawing is even held.

2. And Iraq comes down to "Was it Worth it"
OF COURSE Dems would love to have Democracy throughout the world - heck even in Ohio - but at what cost?

3. And also ironic
that it appears that the islamist candidates are winning by a landslide.

Where will the poor embarrased and discredited neocons hide their purple fingers now
that they have busted the American bank and sent countless young Americans to their deaths
for an unneccesary and counterpoductive war ..... that they LOST all on their own ???

4. It's getting really weird out there
First we have Rummy complaining about the press. That sentence even in such a simple form has several jokes built into it.

Two days ago the woman who is supposed to be in charge of the US image (did we ever need someone for that before?) overseas -Karen Hughes- was making the rounds on TV here in the US. Domestic psy-ops continue.

This morning I actually heard the Secretary of State of the United States of America say on live TV "I want to remind people that we are in Iraq under a UN mandate"

thread here-still waiting on the video from NBC

At the same time we now have confirmation that the WH leaped over every law and the clear original content of the founding fathers and democracy in general to spy on his own people. Normal law enforcement would do you see. Oh yeah and the NY Times sat on the story for a YEAR ( ;-) ) and then let the WH redact part of it.

I'll be in the lounge.
