Don’t call it a comeback: Bush’s job approval at 42% in new Fox News poll, unchanged from two weeks ago. 51% of Americans disapprove.

12/15/05 FOX Poll:
Year-End Roundup: Bush, Iraq, the Economy and Alito
Thursday, December 15, 2005

President George W. Bush finishes the year with a sizable minority of Americans approving of the job he's doing — 10 points lower than where he started the year. A majority believes this week's parliamentary elections in Iraq will have a positive effect on the future of democracy in that country. These are just some of the findings from the latest FOX News national poll.

(Kpete: Sizable Minority-Whats that mean. 10 points LOWER than where he started this year!!!)

One in four say President Bush's recent speeches on Iraq have given them a better understanding of the situation, while twice as many — 53 percent — disagree. Another 17 percent are unfamiliar with the speeches at all.

Job Performance Ratings

President Bush's average job rating for the year 2005 is 46 percent, making this the lowest annual average of his presidency. This year's average rating is down slightly from a 49 percent average in 2004; his highest annual average of 72 percent came in 2002, buoyed by post-9/11 ratings throughout that year that were in the high sixties to low eighties.

The president's job rating now sits at 42 percent approve and 51 percent disapprove, essentially unchanged from two weeks ago, but up from last month when his approval hit a record low of 36 percent (November 8-9).

1. "sizable minority approve" now if it were Clinton they would have
said, "A sizable majority disapprove."

4. Are we forgetting the real reason we are in Iraq
Nation building was not the reason for starting the unprovoked war in Iraq. The purpose was to,
(and they lied) rid Saddam of weapons of mass destruction. Hello! I don't think what Bush's doing over there now, with their rigged elections, etc., should have any bearing on the matter. Our own country needs a lot of repair; he's the president, so he should be concentrating on his most
important job that he was elected, errr, I meant selected to do.
How in the world can people be so shallow, and swing like a pendlum on a grandfather clock, on a day to day basis? This is not a horse race, this is serious business. :wtf: and very sad.
