DU this CNN poll (Spying on Americans without warrants)
Should the government have been given the authority to spy on Americans without warrants after the 9/11attacks?

http://www.cnn.com/

Currently: Yes 31% No 69%

I called Feingold last night and told him to filibuster away. The PATRIOT Act is a big issue for me.

11. I was pissed....
...that appearently 3 in 10 people thought it was just dandy to suspend MY constitutional rights (they never consider it may apply to THEM) then saw that just like other right wing slant polls I've seen,that they tie directly to 9/11.....Why not the ideologically less ambiguous question-Is it ok for the government to violate the law in order to violate the civil rights of a private citizen??? Then I realized even that would probably only drive the results to 20/80....and that the fact is that 1 in 5 think the government,regardless of it's actions,is always right....and THAT scared me...

17. 31% yes == 31% that hate freedom.
No doubt the 31% is the loony toons right, which always goes around bragging how much they support "freedom" and "strict interpretation" of the Constitution. Yeah, sure.

19. Done. Interesting that the percentage of those who despise liberty...
is similar to the estimated 20-30 percent of Christians who advocate theocracy -- and I cannot but suppose CNN's 31 percent comes from the same group.
