as if it makes a lick of difference, as we find out that the NSA has been engaging in domestic survellance on American citizens without the benefit of a subpeona? Wearing their big boy clothes, playing government......

They actually think that it matters what the law is. Believing in Santa and that Bush actually cares what they think.

It's so adorable that McCain says he wants to be informed of what is going on. He'll be grown up any day now.

1. A personal story about Homeland Security
As some of you might know, I post from time to time here different tidbits I pick up from my sister, who works at the Agency listed in the topic title.

When I visited her workplace and actually performed roleplaying duties for a simulation, I was surprised that covert police -- like the bag checkers in the NYC street -- were mostly there as a distraction or deterrent.

Most of the real anti-terror work takes place with covert agents. People dressed as interns, businessmen, and pedestrians -- seeking people out and openly decieving them. And this is almost constant.

I believe in keeping people safe, but these massive and expensive covert security networks I think are definitely too extreme -- and the money could be used for much better things (as well as the talent).
