10. OK this is freakey, but I just attempted to vote again since my above
vote didn't count and I voted "Scapped now" and it shows 69,767. REALLY!

14. It doesn't update immediately.
I think the numbers are updated every fifteen minutes or something. Don't worry; your vote's probably getting counted!

22. My thoughts for what they're worth.
Online polls are obviously unscientific, and therefore the results are not considered to be valid or reliable.
Validity roughly means that you're measuring what you think you're measuring. Reliability means that you get the same results each time you ask the same questions, so tomorrow's results shouldn't be widely different from today's.

On the positive side...the results of online polls are available for public viewing. So they provide at least some instant feedback about what the public is thinking on a subject to both the organization that posted the poll and to the other viewers who might like some confirmation that their opinion is part of the majority.

On the negative side...these polls are highly subject to freeping (and DUing for that matter, which we do to counteract the freeping ;)), AND they can be virtually useless when poorly worded (which happens all too frequently).
