p.s. my dad's cousin had a bit part in that movie as "jess", the mechanic who asks poitier if he's "got a roof" -- a place to stay while in town.

he changed his name to khalil bezaleel late in life.

i only met him a couple of times as a teen, but i remember him as a pretty cool guy, who had a wonderful singing voice (once sang at la scala opera house) and gave us kids a free acting lesson.
