Hilarious post at FR regarding the Patriot act cloture vote

omg, maybe this is true on opposite day. Oh how i wish this was true.

To: RKBA Democrat
How do republicans control the senate.

The biggest lie in politics is that republicans control congress.

In order to get legislation done in congress you need 60 votes in the senate.

Harry Reid controls the congress. Reid is the one that decides what legislation gets through. If Reid wants legislation stops he tells his caucus to fillabuster.

Bill Frist has zero power. He doesn't decide anything. Reid does.



The left controls the supreme court too. Kennedy, Souter, Ginsberg, Stevens, Breyer aren't going anywhere. They give the left 5 solid votes on the supreme court.


Between Harry Reid controlling what judges and what legislation goes through congress and the left having the majority on the supreme court the right has never been weaker.

19. Well, we've seen examples of their spelling. Do you think that
their reading skills would be any better? They seem to have quite a problem with comprehension so that's why they have to lean so heavily on Rush to tell them what to think about issues.

There the MAJORITY, so of course they have no control. Only MINORITIES have any kind of control in the US. The smaller the minority, the more control it has. So if each of us decided to be our own personal minority, we'd all have absolute power.
It only makes sense. That's the reason behind the Army's new "Army of One" ads-they're by far more powerful that an army of millions! All we need to do is send out 1 soldier and he will defeat the entire world. But we messed up by sending way too many soldiers to Iraq, and they all got in each other's way. See how it works?
Just taking the logic to its natural conclusion...

Apparently, the only way for the Republicans to regain control of the Senate would be to lose as many seats as possible. Once they are in the minority, they will be back in control, the way Harry Reid is now.

I know a lot of people frown on going over there and getting dirty, but for me it is comic relief. There is a great back-and-forth going on about the definition of 'terrorism':
