Hydrogen misconceptions, once and for all, we need to know

that these companies are out there, they are doing well, they are not going away, and they will be good for the future if there is one. Whether or not there is one may be affected by how well these companies proceed, and how much media attention they receive. We need to push these technologies farther and harder than any other in history.

Fuel cells are electrochemical power generators. As long as fuel, such as natural gas and air are supplied, a fuel cell will continue to produce electricity and heat without combustion and the pollutants associated with burning fuel.

On another note.... Plug and the Valiant of Europe are starting to do some things that are being given a "warm" welcome.

MEETING DEMAND: Plug Power’s partnership with European heating
industry leader Vaillant yields development of a proton exchange membrane
fuel cell heating appliance for the European market.
Plug Power Inc. and Vaillant GmbH launched the European Union Fuel Cell
Virtual Power Plant (EU-FCVPP) project in November 2001 with academic and
industrial partners of Europe. Under the terms of the agreement, Plug Power
delivered thirty-one fuel cell sub-systems, each consisting of a fuel processor,
which converts natural gas into a hydrogen-rich reformate, and a fuel cell stack,
in which this gas mixture reacts with air to produce electricity and heat. These
systems were integrated with Vaillant heating systems, energy management
systems and power electronics to become combined heat and power fuel cell
heating appliances. The goals of the project were to develop, install, test and
demonstrate a virtual power plant consisting of decentralized fuel cell heating
appliances. Over the course of the project, two versions of the fuel cell sub-system
were developed: EURO 1 and EURO 2.
EURO 1
The EURO 1 fuel cell sub-system, based on Plug Power’s proven GenSys™
technology, was incorporated into Vaillant’s Fuel Cell Heating Appliance
(FCHA) and became the first field deployed CE-certified fuel cell system of its
kind. The FCHA produces up to 4.6 kilowatts of electricity and nine kilowatts
of thermal energy with high electrical and overall efficiencies. Development,
testing and production of this system were completed within one year, and six
units were installed as part of the EU-FCVPP in the winter of 2002/2003.

There are so many OTHER possibilities that do not involve fossil fuels. For example, the Norwegians and Dutch are pursuing power generation by a technique that involves a membrane between fresh and salt water:

by the Bushies and their cronies here and in the MidEast on fossil fuels - it's also POWER OVER CITIZENS. In our current society, everyone but the independent fringe needs a source of fuels to heat their homes, run their autos, and power their machines. That means that they are subject to those who own and dispense sources of power like fuels, and that these people can charge whatever they want and have power in the world.

If every building and car can have, say, solar power and hydrogen fuel cells, people would be INDEPENDENT of such centralized sources of fuels, and the huge flow of money to the oil/coal owners and distributors would slow a great deal. Places like Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and the people like the Bushies who have sucked up to them would become much less important.

It truly IS an empire, and fuel cells and other sources of clean power that can be individually owned threaten it. No wonder the thoroughly corrupt Bushies are opposed to what is clearly the best course for the US and the world.
