This would be more politically correct, "Now that the government has been caught spying on American citizens, should they be allowed to continue?"

I hate the MSM. Traitors one and all.

9. Even more accurate would have been: Should the President
of the United States be allowed to secretly authorize spying on American citizens?"

And why is CNN's top story about the WTO riots? While that's important, it's certainly not the top story of the day, since Bush has come out and announced that he intends to continue to defy the Constitution.

19. My neighbor, the guy across the street.
He moved in about 6-7 years ago. He's younger than me and never works, so I suspect he and his family are living off a trust fund of some kind. Always home--at first I thought he had a home business, but he never seems to be inside the house for any length of time. Two years ago, I was off work for 5 weeks due to an emergency illness and observed this guy. He was always tinkering around outside his house--mowing his yard at 1pm on a Tuesday, "dusting" his car (yeah, he has a "car duster") at 2pm on a Wednesday, watching his young kids play in the yard on a Thursday morning, watering his grass on Friday afternoon, etc. etc. Had a "Bush/Cheney" sign in his yard last year. But I'm almost certain he's a "if you've got nothing to hide, then you've got nothing to fear" kind of guy.

Are they nuts? Have they no freaking clue that any government anywhere will be corrupt if given the chance. Government gets so big and then they run right over the people.

Big government/big corporations --- they will work toward total power if they are free from restraint to do so.

20. The Thirty Percenters....
Thirty percenters, are the core Bush supporters.

They will support him no matter what he does. They believe he is sent by God to save the world. They also include the racists and the selfish faux rich.

This group managed to elect him twice by means we all know about.

We let this group take over the nation and now it's payback time.

I have no problem calling those 30%er's on what they have done to this nation and the world. it is time for moderates to stop going along with them. I don't know who I amore upset at the apathetic moderates or the 30%ers...

They do not understand history, psychology, sociology, or philosophy. They are the intellectually incurious, the eternally ignorant. They are idealistic and ideological. They believe in their beliefs without qualification.

They are the 30% that pull the national average level of education down to 9th grade.

25. There was a reason why Franklin said
‘‘They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Now I don't think he said this because it was some fantasy in a vacuum. I think he said it because he saw that we always have about 30% of the population who will sell out the whole dream due to their pathetic fear, ignorance, and arrogance.

The fools voting yes on this poll have always been with us. It is our eternal struggle to never ever let them win.

40. The wording of the poll implies
that Bush had the authority to give the government (specifically the NSA) authority to spy on US citizens. Nowhere in the constitution is such authority given to the executive.

Specifically:

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
