It's Christmastime,
there's no need to be afraid
At Christmastime,
we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty
we can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world
at ChristmastimeIn the gulf area, people are still putting their lives back together. They will be for a long time. But still, our president chooses to look the other way. As does most of the media. And FEMA? Don't get me started....
And people still feel threatened. What is it like to go to sleep every night, not knowing if someone will enter your home and kill you?
For all you Katrina survivors... We will never forget you, even when others have. Keep donating food, clean water, money, and clothing to the Red Cross and other honorable organizations. Please...
But say a prayer,
pray for the other ones
At Christmastime it's hard,
but when you're having fun
There's a world outside your window,
and it's a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing
is the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring there
are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it's them
instead of youAh, but let us not forget the others in the world. The survivors of the Pakistani earthquake still need hope. Winter is here, and many are without shelter in the cold nights.
Many children have been injured, and are without care. Many parents have lost them. Some are dead, some aren't. Think of yourself being a parent in that position.
As with Katrina, the news is not reporting anymore. They have moved onto more important stuff... like, have you heard Nick and Jessica have split? I was very upset for them!
Never forget these people. Never ever forget the children, the mothers, the fathers, the aunts, the uncles, the cousins, the brothers, the sisters, and grandparents killed there.
And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmastime
The greatest gift they'll get this year is life
Where nothing ever grows
No rain or rivers flow
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?
Here's to you raise a glass for everyone
Here's to them underneath that burning sun
Do they know it's Christmastime at all? And, the tsunamis one year anniversary is coming up. People have gotten farther along in rebuilding their lives... But not nearly far enough.
We're lucky we live here.
As with many natural disasters like this, children have been victims in more ways than one. Oftentimes, they are snatched from their parents and sold into slavery or prostitution. Parents are grief-stricken.
How many times must I stress that we never forget. Always remember. For if we look to the past, then we can correct the future.
Feed the world
Feed the world
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmastime again
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmastime againNever forget.
Never forget.
Never forget.
Never forget.
