You know, wiretaping is what J.Edgar Hoover used to use to blackmail
politocos. So now, Bush can do this under cover of "national security" and virtually hold all political actors hostage to whatever he wants them to do. I wish someone in the intel community had enough courage to wiretap Bush, Cheney, and Rummy and Rove in the name of national security.

1. Somebody mentioned this earlier....
especially in the case of McCain. How can a war hero and his family be disparaged so badly and then be buddy-buddy afterward? Blackmail maybe?

Is there something out there really bad to make McCain kiss the chimp's ass?

2. It does seem like nearly all of the (national) politicians are intimidated
- so this would make sense.

5. And international politicians
I suspect sometimes this is behind the compliant attitudes of many European leaders - US spy agencies know enough uncomfortable personal secrets about these folks to keep them quite.

13. Right. Just look how many European countries jumped at the chance....
...to help the NeoCons illegally invade Iraq.

The only way the NeoCons got anyone to help invade Iraq was to pay them a lot of money.

8. Perhaps wiretapping blackmail explains...
...why John Kerry conceded so quickly, without saying anything about voting irregularities in Ohio, etc.

With the NSA putting the full force of it's abilities behind Bush/Cheney 04...how do you fight that?

Impeach...then launch them all into the fucking sun.

12. Too much is coming out about the NeoCons for that to be a viable theory.
