from the bloody invasion and occupation of Iraq.

We're not even defeatists if we don't want to win anything out of Bush's illegal and immoral invasion.

I just want our soldiers to come home to prevent them from killing or maiming anyone else, and to keep themselves from getting killed or injured. I disagree with the president that there is anything worth our soldiers fighting for and dying for in Iraq, save their own defenses and a basic concern for the safety of others there. I don't think the 'war on terror' can be won, or even fought, in Iraq. Our soldiers need to come home as soon as logistically possible.

That doesn't make me a defeatist. That's not the opinion of a defeatist, it's the declaration of a realist.

defeatist ...Acceptance of or resignation to the prospect of defeat. de·featist

1. Don't give him the credibility to make you defend yourself.....
In BushSpeak, "defeatist" means "someone who won't go and do exactly as I say, unthinkingly and without objection."

He's a mindless murderer with no soul, no morality, and no shame. He knows nothing except how to spew bullshit, and that's all he did tonight, the treasonous fuck.

4. You're half-right
It's the language of those ratbastards that we need to ATTACK.

I'm sick of mealymouthed Democrats sitting around and dissembling, being passive and afraid to take on these mofos. Joe Biden started talking about how remarkable it was that Fuckface admitted things hadn't gone too well in Iraq, and I turned him off, because the idea that any Democrat would find even ONE ASPECT of that bullshit speech acceptable - not to mention praiseworthy - is outrageous beyond my belief.

I'm sick of weenie Democrats. I'd like to know what Jack Murtha had to say about this crap tonight.

We have to go after them and shove their lying words down their throats. Over and over.

6. In his mind, he has to win
Despite all that has come to Bush without his having to personally sacrifice anything, he has managed to burn through everything he was given, an oil company, a baseball team, a presidency . . .

His is more than the classic inferiority that compels some to bellittle and destroy all who stand taller. His sickness is an obsessive need to actually 'win' anything outright. No oil, no major league team, no weapons of destruction, no bin Laden, no win in Iraq, notwithstanding his whining for the rest of us to come on and share in the glory of his utter failure.

5. I can not watch that man speak...
This administration's game is held together by their ability to lead public discourse in the direction they choose. We, have to stop playing their game,...the speech is fiction, our lives are reality. I no longer look to impeachment or a democratic victory as the solution...but for something other to emerge from the conversations of ordinary citizens. The situation with Iraq, because of it's strategic location at the time of the decline of oil, is the conversation I would like to have. I would like someone to explain what it means to me...not oil co's, or the economy, but me in my everyday life. I cannot believe so many are so corrupt to go along with this plan...unless they really do not see an alternative. Am I naive?

7. he's got all the seemingly easy answers
Through our nation's faith, and in the trust we place in our representatives that they would be humbled to serve the will of the people, and by their good judgement lead, we have been betrayed by a ruling-class oligarchy which has perpetuated its role and influence in our governance; not by the quality of their service, but through the advantages of patronage and association.

This Republican administration is a reflection of that tiny percentage of the nation's citizens who have maintained their wealth and influence through the last century. Despite the persistent poverty of generations of Americans who work and struggle with no guarantee of success or survival, this same working-class of people routinely elevate these power-brokers to the cadre of the privileged few who would lord over their wealth in the offices of our government.

With our votes, cast for hollow promises of representation in the division and disposition of our contributions of blood and sacrifice, we get no more than spattered remains of precious meal from a pig's trough. And in turn, we assure their ascendency to that two-percent confederation of corporate interests who routinely divide the fruits of our labor for their own benefit and purpose.

We must care enough to involve ourselves in every instigation of democracy which confronts us. Those in power who are motivated by greed will show up every day to collect their share, and ours as well. Can we afford to turn away and let all of the negative influences have the floor to themselves?

We have to come to grips with our individual responsibility to vigilance. We have to show up every day to make certain the government is representing all of the people; not just the corporate few who show up every day to collect our money. They will always fill the halls of Congress with their favors, bribes, and obstruction.

As my old friend, Guy Washington used to say, "Good always leaves, but bad comes to stay." That's what Iraq should mean to you. What our government does is all of our responsibility, whether their actions directly affect us or not. You are correct. We make the difference as we communicate with each other about the reality of our lives.
