Nope....not here in Dallas. It is cloudy though. Ceiling about 2000 feet would be my guess.

Oops...I should say that the ceiling is about 609.6 meters.

Oops again, I meant "metres", of course. :)

I suppose that the chances of us Centrists leaving DU are between slim and none...and slim just rode outta town.

16. Centrists are welcome.
It's just DLC supporters who are sneered at.

Remember, being moderate or centrist is not the same as being a DLC corporatist. I'm fairly moderate, myself, but I don't like those who support corporations over the working class.

39. Senators
Senators who are Centrists that I both value and admire are:

Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana :)
Senator Tom Carper of Delaware
Senator Harry Reid of Nevada
Senator Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia
Senator Mark Pryor of Arkansas
Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York
Senator Kent Conrad of North Dakota
Senator Maria Cantwell of Washington
Senator Ken Salazar of Colorado

Although they're NOT Centrists, I also VERY much like:

Senator Richard Durbin of Illinois
Senator Barbara Boxer of California
Senator Charles Shumer of New York
Senator Russell Feingold of Wisconsin

27. Centrists are fine
People whose main purpose in life seems to be putting down the so-called "leftist fringe" ("leftist fringe"=Democrats who believe that seeking power for its own sake without any inviolable core principles is the road to corruption, Democrats who believe that the government should serve ordinary people first and not corporations, Democrats who believe that military action is rarely the best solution to an international problem, Democrats who believe that the Bush administration is so dangerous that elected Dems should never cut it any slack, Democrats who see vast domestic problems that no on is talking about, Democrats who propose policies that work well in almost every industrialized country outside the U.S., etc.) get really tiresome.

42. In general a Centrist
Is a mainstream moderate Democrat. We are Liberal on MOST social issues and conservative with a small "c" on many economic issues.

We think that both extremes are equally damaging, that the extreme Right and the extreme Left are as damaging as each other. Fascism and Communism/Socialism are two sides of the same coin unfortunately...and both of them should be resisted.

The Third Way is the Centrist way. The majority of the nation is Moderate and they want a Moderate and smaller Government.

Bush Inc. being Fascists have expanded the Government to record levels for example. The Department of Homeland Security was the largest expansion of Government since the Truman era.

We need a Moderate and smaller Government, we need a Progressive Taxation policy, we need a job creation program, we need to help those people who are on welfare and able-bodied to get off welfare and into a job, we need to protect Social Security for those who need it, we need to protect Medicare and Medicaid, we need to get Moderately Liberal Judges on the bench, we need to destroy the Patriot Act, we need to protect the right to Abortion, we need to make the law equal for gays, we need to punish Corporate wrong-doing, we need to bring back Open Government for the people, we need to formulate an affordable Healthcare plan for those citizens that need it, we need to become less dependent on foreign oil...there are many other issues too...but that's just a few to answer your question "What exactly makes one a Centrist?"

43. All democrats are welcome, you just have to make credible posts
and the media's centrist democrat is anything BUT in touch with the center of the democratic base. Liebermann is the model of the media's darling centrist democrat. Think about it.
