1. No, the voting is rigged.
The Republicans can't give up either house of Congress, the administration, or the courts because if they do all their evil deeds will come to light!

We in West Virginia are going to throw our only Republican, Shelly Moore Capito, out of the House of Represenatives. That should help a little.

3. Not a chance
in case you haven't noticed, the elections are as corrupt as the WH. We have become Nazi Germany, and our demise will likely come the same way.

5. The House for sure !!
I don't beleive Americans will want 2 more years of complete control by one party and with Deibold knocked
out of Leon and Volusia Counties in Fla. We were robbed in 2000-2002 and 2004. Also, a number of GOP members
are facing criminal indictments makes me feel like 2006 will be a banner year !!!

16. That's the one they are really setting up to run on, IMHO.
It will drive a wedge into the Democrats and get all the rednecks to vote Repug.

7. Yes, the House
There are enough races with either favorable demographics or strong challengers to swing the required number of seats. To win back the Senate, we'd have to hold all our contested seats and win every one of the vulverable Republican seats, and I don't think we are that good yet.

8. I think it's a little too soon to tell. There are so many investigations
still unresolved, and most, if not all will bubble to the surface beefore Nov. 2006. I think a lot depends on the outcome of these investigations, especially Abramoff!

If what seems apparent to most of us really is proven, then I think there's a very strong chance the Dems could take both houses.

both the Republican House and the Republican White House couple with the inability of either to actually provide good sound political management of the government are a great opportunity for State Dem Parties to take the House seats needed for a majority. The one obvious caveat is that House elections tend to be more "party base" oriented than Senate elections...turnout and local issues play a huge role.

Edited on Mon Dec-19-05 11:12 PM by Patsy Stone
(even if there aren't) who knows? Anything's possible. In the Senate, we'd have to win all the incumbent/open Dem. races (17), and Jeffords' open seat (18). Then we'll still have to gain 6 more seats for 51.

Arizona: Jon Kyl
Indiana: Dick Lugar
Maine: Olympia Snowe
Mississippi: Trent Lott
Missouri: Jim Talent
Montana: Conrad Burns
Nevada: John Ensign
Ohio: Mike DeWine
Pennsylvania: Rick Santorum
Rhode Island: Lincoln Chafee
Tennessee: Bill Frist
Texas: Kay Bailey Hutchison
Utah: Orrin Hatch
Virginia: George Allen
Wyoming: Craig Thomas

19. I figure

that Republicans have just enough political material left to sustain their present slight prevailing for about six more months. Dealing with illegals, the AMT, DeLay throwing the mud at Democrats to some effect and yet finally he and his lot getting convicted, Iraq descending to the next level of Hell. Maybe another major Al Qaeda hit in the West.

And then it all crumbles, the GOP will be expended in the eyes of moderates as a useful force.

I think the House will definitely fall, but it will be murky for a long time and seem to fall in the last few days or weeks before Election Day.
The Senate score will be apparent sometime during the summer. I don't know whether to guess Democrats get to 49, 50, or 51 seats there yet. Either way, Republicans will be so weak and broken that Harry Reid gets his way on everything that matters in the next Congress.
