Knowledge is power...I am curious, what are your top 5 pearls of
wisdom; things that you know now as a result of your time here at DU? I have been here for over a year now. I wonder what knowledge we have that other Americans don't have. I am aware that we have a wealth of knowledge here. If you had to make a list of the top 5 (or top 10) things that you know now as result from being at DU, what would your list look like? In other words, if there were 5 things that you know that you wish other Americans knew, 5 things that you wish every American knew...what would your list look like?

I mean if you wanted to educate the masses, what would your main subjects/lessons be?

I think that the big themes that come to my mind - are E-vote 2004, Plame/Treasongate, BFEE, WHIG/OSP - yet there is so much more. For instance, nuggets about the Cover-Up Congress and the GOP Culture of Corruption (Abramoff, Cunningham, Ney, Taft, DeLay...did I miss any big name thieves?)

At the moment I can't think of specifics, unfortunately. How about you?

1. Evoting is number one. If only people knew....
Then there's the benign neglect that led to 9/11; the disappearance of $9 billion taxpayer dollars in Iraq; the subversion and misappropriation of funds to Iraq without congressional consent by Bush...

The mind boggles that there's so much more and yet his poll numbers are "soaring." :eyes:

3. Skills draft, NCLB fine print, purchased news "reporters" for propoganda
purposes (more than once), The tangled web that is Abramoff, Diebold delivery promises, flackjackets that are worthless while the maker parties (10 million party for his daughter), Cheney's secret energy meetings (which are still secret to us today too) ...

So many things ... things that seem little but add up to so much corruption it's mind boggling.

6. "The ministry of information"
People are just clueless as to who is in charge of the "news".It's sad, most folks don't have the time to find the truth, and if they do,they are so conditioned to believe O'liely et al,that they treat the truth as fiction.
