Bush just gave Rove, Libby, et al, a Death Sentence With His Speech Today
Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 12:21 AM by berni_mccoy
From Bush's Speech Today:

The fact that we're discussing this program is helping the enemy.

You've got to understand, and I hope the American people understand, there is still an enemy that would like to strike the United States of America, and they're very dangerous.

And, you know, the discussion about how we try to find them will enable them to adjust.
...
But it is a shameful act by somebody who has got secrets of the United States government and feels like they need to disclose them publicly.

Let me paraphrase:
Statement 1. Discussing a secret program is Treason.
Statement 2 and 3. It's treason especially because we have an enemy that is actively trying to hurt us and will adapt because of leaked secrets.
Statement 4. Anyone who discloses secrets to the public is guilty.

I'd say he just convicted Libby, Rove and possibly Cheney to the sentence of Treason, a crime punishable by Death (Those traitors should be grateful I oppose the death penalty).

2. And by insisting democracies don't war, he admitted the US is no longer
a democracy.

That along with his pride filled admission to committing a felony 30 times and it might be time for him to dust off the ol resume....

Remember when he said it'd be a lot easier to be a dictator as long as it was him? People laughed than but now I don't think so. It wasn't like I was already paranoid....

4. Well Al Franken said it jokingly but...
"And so basically, what it looks like is going to happen is that Libby and Karl Rove are going to be executed” because “outing a CIA agent is treason,”--Al Franken

22. Yeah, that's funny isn't it?
When I googled to find the exact quote from Franken, I noticed that it gave me mostly right wing blogs that were so upset with Franken calling for the execution of those two. What morons! I guess they are so used to their side calling for the blatant killings of liberals they think our side does it.

Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 02:10 AM by McCamy Taylor
Whoever sent W. on his "I can not tell a lie" tour of American journalists should have his or her head examined.

On first write I thought maybe this was a Karen Hughes idea, but she isnt that dumb. Inexperienced in foreign affairs, but she would understand to stick a wire on her man before throwing him to post-Katrina media sharks, I think.

21. Agreed. It's like a malfunctioning robot
or a headless chicken. Or perhaps it's just not possible to keep all of the crimes under wraps anymore without just declaring martial law today.

19. I've been thinking. MAYBE BUSH IS ON OUR SIDE!
Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 02:16 AM by Beam Me Up
Now, just hang with me a minute, don't go pushing the alert button just yet.

(I like the way your mind works, by the way, berni.)

Some Season's you just can't tell which side of this Cold Civil War we're in, you're on. For example: Maybe George W. Bush really is trying to fight the terrorists attacking our country by eavesdropping without warrant on phone calls of as yet unnamed American citizens. After all I feel quite certain that some American citizens were directly involved in the last paralyzing terrorist attack. The only question is, WHO were they? Clearly no more--in fact far less evidence that bin Laden and al Quida attacked us on 9/11 has been forth coming from this White House than evidence that Sadam Husein had weapons of mass destruction.

In other words, it could just as well be that his motives are not now and have never been to do anything other than the very opposite of what he says he is doing. Since, as we all know, it wouldn't be the first time.

(Do I really have to toss in that aggravating "sarcasm" gif? It is SO annoying.)
