Here's our problem...
Most people don't care if Bush tortures, spies, or kills.

I was on my way to work this morning and heard a sports talk host say he was "pro torture". It was like he was saying he was pro death penalty.

The 911 attacks have scared Americans into letting this President get away with anything, including stealing an election.

Last night, I watched Fiengold, Reed, and Levin plainly talk about how Bush could have easily used the FISA court to get warrants whenever he wanted. They said things like, 'why do we even need the Patriot Act if Bush is going to do what he wants anyways', or 'He is the President, not a King'. But, today I hear regular Americans saying, 'so what, I don't care what he has to do'.

How do we wake them up?

1. For some..
.. it has to happen to them first.

They literally cannot think.

But I don't think it's most people. Most people are waking up and starting to think.

2. The solution, for a while
In pre-war Germany was to give Hitler more power. The reasoning was he would be satisfied, eventually.

4. If the government takes our freedoms, the terrorists have won.
I don't know if that would wake them up or not, but no one wants the terrorists to win.
