14. No.
Where in the constitution does it say that the way you deal with a president who commits high crimes is to censure him?

2. It's time.
I don't care if it might not be successful. It's the right fucking thing to do.

Massive theft from the public treasury, unending war, secret prisons, torture, spying on American citizens...

It is TIME.

3. We should talk, seriously, about it.
It's time to look at it.

Can it happen w/a republican controlled Congress? Obviously not. It should be a talking point for Dems to retake the House, so we can impeach bush.

We should stand strong about protecting civilians rights and not allowing the administration to run amok w/out any regulation.

It is time.

5. Your poll would be more accurate if you would spell your question
correctly and correct grammatical problems.

16. Sorry, my native language is English.
If the Democrats in Congress do not make take of Impeachment thier primary response to this Domestic Spying scandal

No I don't understand what you mean. I am clueless as to what the phrase do not make take of Impeachment implies you want responders to vote on.

A grammar policeman would arrest you for spelling and capitalization crimes against the language.

I am challenging your ability to express a coherent thought with the English language. You have not put forth a problem statement that makes any sense. As long as you don't care what question the poll takers think they are answering when they contribute their vote, I guess you can take meaning from the results. I don't know what the meaning would be.

19. It was a typo you idiot
If the Democrats in Congress do not make TALK of Impeachment their primary response to this Domestic Spying scandal...

Someone with half a brain could correct that based on the context of the sentence.

People who harp on grammar and spelling do so to feel superior.

conversing in poorly formed sentence fragments, I might have understood your incoherent statement. By the way, even after correction, it is still struggling mightily to get your point across.

And as I said in my previous post, I just wanted to understand what you were trying to get at, the spelling and grammar are secondary. But since I am on such a superior level of communication, I see I need to repeat myself, AND TALK LOUDER SO YOU CAN HEAR ME DOWN THERE.

32. Well, if Bush is impeached and Cheney cannot fulfil the committments
of the job due to health, then doesn't it go to the House Majority Leader, Delay, who will soon be in jail. If he cannot take over the duties, then does it go to the minority leader, Nancy Pelosa or the Secretary of State, Condii Bush? That would be their dream come true and still a nightmare for us.

8. 5 votes will support the party less and
11 will switch to another party?

that's curious.

mind you i can be and am very critical of stting democratic senators and reps -- but i will give praise when praise is due --
so i'm just wondering -- what about calling for impeachment means that people would be LESS satisfied with the party?

9. Violating the Bill of Rights
That's all they really need to be united on right now. If some talk impeachment, and some don't, I could care less. Just so long as they all agree that the President cannot spy on people without proper FISA oversight and warrants, and that he violated the Constitution when he did it. That's what the rest of the country needs to hear first, impeachment can rise up from the masses.

10. *wince* it'd be painful for me if they didn't
Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 06:37 PM by Heaven and Earth
First off, everybody but everybody knows that Bush broke the law. After five years, it's pretty clear to everyone with eyes that Bush and his syndicate don't give a tinker's toot for democracy, and in public cares more about Iraqi democracy than our own. If Democrats refuse to uphold the law, they are setting a very dangerous precedent, and lowering the bar for the use of totalitarian powers by the president.

I am tired of the imperial presidency. I'm frustrated, and think most reasonable people (and certainly those who have been more personally affected by Bush) have gone far beyond that. I'd like to see some evidence that our Democratic elected officials are actual human beings like the rest of us. I'd also like to see that they actually would know what do with power if we gave it to them, by helping them take back congress. That starts by understanding that when you can put your finger on the exact statute that Bush broke, and you have video and audio evidence of him admitting it, what more do you need? Republicans would have impeached Bill Clinton yesterday, and convicted him by tomorrow, under the same circumstances.

So to sum up, if Democrats aren't steadfast in calling for investigation, censure, and impeachment, my personal motivation to give my time and money to help them regain congress is going to go down. Maybe not to nothing, and I'll still be voting for them, but it will be a huge blow for my morale.

20. Your poll is very confusing
The question in the thread title seems to be the opposite of the question in the body of the post, and I think where you wrote "take" you mean "talk".

I am quite certain I misvoted - I will support the party more if they DO make impeachment a major response, but I guess my answer implies the opposite.

The title asks one question, the poll asks the opposite. I'd answer "yes" to the first, and "no" to the second.

28. Be Careful
The policy of political destruction is the embodiment of the New Republicans.

It would not serve us well to go into that mode....although technically correct....there's no real benefit to be gained.

Better to expose the virtues of being a democrat (Clarkism) and take Limbaugh head on in terms of the demonization of liberals. You'll get much more mileage out of that.

29. I have been vocal
on these boards that I think the chance of impeachment is pretty slim. Simply because the GOP will do whatever it takes to stop it.
That said I think the Dems should talk very loudly about impeachment. If nothing else than to remind the populace that our leader is a criminal.

30. Go for it.
Not convinced its gonna happen, but what the hey, talk it up. I see it as something I have heard people do: if there is someone in your neighborhood that is a real asshole, in the morning when you walk the dog, let it crap in that person's yard. That's what I see this as. It may just be talk (dogshit), but it irritates the hell out of them. That is a good thing in and of itself.
