Forgotten: US Suffers Terrorist WMD Attack— Republicans Do Nothing.
Edited on Tue Dec-20-05 11:45 PM by The Whiskey Priest
Less than three weeks after 9-11, while the Republicans were building fantasy WMDs, the United States of America was attacked by (a) Terrorist. Using the United States Post Office Ames strain weapons grade anthrax was delivered to several targets in the US. The country suffered real disruption and death as the Republicans began to fabricate the story of mushroom clouds and drone airplanes that Hussein would fictionally use to deliver death to American cities.

The press went into a fevered frenzy for six or so weeks over the real, honest-to-goodness biological attack…then slowly the story faded as the Republicans took the country off into never-never land of storybook threats poised by Iraq. Soon the story was gone—it had been disregarded long before by the Republicans and now we find that they are giving up the hunt for the Terrorist that perpetrated the only WMD and Biological attack to ever occur in the US.

The Terrorist is still-at-large and for all we know is still in possession of high-grade anthrax. Yet, all we hear from the Republicans is Iraq, Iraq, and more Iraq. One must wonder why there is so little interest in an actual attack and so much interest in a work of fiction.

2. The lack of interest. is because the Repubs did it.
Wasn't that pretty obvious? I mean, they mailed it to Democrats and 'liberal' press people.

8. One of the first shots across bows
They were warnings to the Dems and press. Same with Wilson/Plame. Since I took my tinfoil hat off I can't mention others. That was an excellent article.

9. Only two letters went to dem senators considering 9/11 inquiries
Edited on Wed Dec-21-05 12:57 AM by Atman
Wasn't that conveeeeeennnient? Cheney personally phoned Daschle and Leahy and told them to "back off." In the attack on the Hart Senate Office Building, hundreds of legislators and staffers were sent running for their lives at a moments notice, leaving behind unlocked offices and file cabinets, computers running and logged-in, bottles of hooch and packs of condoms in their desk drawers, Polaroids of male hookers hidden in the drop-ceiling tiles...whatever was there, it was "cleaned up" by teams of fast-acting haz-mat crews probably from some division of Halliburton, now that I think about it. Seriously...was the Hart Office Building cleanup done by some division of BushCo? The cleanup was performed in part by Tetra Tech, a quick search of whose management didn't set off any real alarms, although one David King's bio lists a stint as a CFO and VP of Bechtel, and Vice Chairman Albert Smith is a former CIA employee and Intelligence Medal of Merit recipient, and big dog at Lockheed-Martin. Curiously, a Google search brings up not a single hit for one of the other highest-paid contractor called, generically enough, IT Corp, according to this Washington Times article. So, even given that these guys maybe weren't that deep into the BushCo realm -- after all, each received little more than $4 million and change for their efforts, sofa coinage by BushCo Crony Contract standards -- the BFEE still had full, unfettered access to all the contents of all those Senators' offices for three months! They paid particular attention to Dashcle's office, and I found this line from that link to be particularly amusing, in a tightly-wrapped tin-foily sort of way... To be effective, the procedure must be undertaken in complete darkness. Workers blacked out office windows ahead of the fumigation.

So what kind of goods do you think they got on Daschle that made him go soft as a five-week-old kitten against the BushCo war machine? So it seems did any other number of Democratic Senators who now, when our country needs them most, are speechifying and feigning outrage while they vote affirmative on every society-destroying, budget-busting, common sense defying disgrace of a policy the republicans toss across the aisle at them.

So what did the BFEE find on all these guys after three months with the keys to every inch of their offices? And the windows blacked out? No wonder they never caught the guy who sent the letters. They'd have to want to, first.

11. There's a mass murderer on the loose.
5 people died including a man who worked for American Media Inc., two postal workers, and two women whose mail came into contact with an Anthrax-laden envelope. Others became sickened and are lucky to be alive. When the scheme went awry and the poison didn't reach its intended targets, the letters stopped and so did the media coverage. I am certain this act of terror was perpetrated by the Bush Crime Family to further scare America and serve notice to prominent Dems and the "mainstream" press that this administration was willing to kill anyone who dared oppose it.

12. You're absolutely right!!!
And one of the ladies who was killed by the rethugs, was a 90 yr.old woman from Oxford Ct., who used to be my Sunday School teacher!!! Bastards! It contaminated one of Ct.'s main postal centers, and I remember living in fear of opening my own mail for months! Wouldn't touch it without surgical gloves on!!!
