Poll question: What's your highest priority?
Edited on Wed Dec-21-05 09:32 AM by DaveTheWave
Sometimes it makes you wonder why some of the temporary non-issues get so much media attention than other issues that violate our rights under the constitution and some with even more harmful, long term damage.
Is it a clever division to get other things snuck by and shoved up American's poop-chutes leaving them wondering, "How they get away with that?"

So I sincerely ask all of you at DU:

What is your highest priority?

5. Riding Schimpanski out of town on a rail, of course . . .
But frankly, I'm more worried about the imminent implosion of the American health care "system" -- aided and abetted by Der Chimpenfuhrer and his toadies, to be sure, but also a systemic problem rapidly approaching the tipping point.

8. Reinstating the Constitution and our Bill of Rights
by impeaching Chimpie and his minions
by guaranteeing our right to vote
by guaranteeing our right to dissent
by guaranteeing our right to bear arms (without being on a secret list)

10. I want to be Queen for a day
Edited on Wed Dec-21-05 10:09 AM by melissinha
I want to power to affect change in this country, and I want those decisions to be irrevocable.

I'd put Ted Stevens in an igloo jail, shove a gavel up Sensenbrenner's throat, convict the Bush Administration of treason and murder, send them to the Hague, I'd make Al Gore President, John Kerry the Vice President, and John Edwards Secretary of state, Attorney General Patrick Fitzgerald (screw you Lieberman!)I would Knight John Conyers, Barbara Boxer, Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters, Henry Waxman, Cynthia McKinney, Russ Feingold, Dennis Kucinich.... demand that automakers make Hybrid vehicles be 75% of their production by next year, I'd revoke tax cuts, fine Bill Gates and the Waltons billions of dollars for monopolistic measures, I'd extradite Bill O'Reilly to Granada, force Rush Limbaugh to donate his entire fortune to drug rehab centers..... stick a hammer up DeLay's... I'd shore up the levees in NOLA, give NOLA reconstruction to NOLA companies.... I'd redistrict Texas and make Lloyd Doggett my Congressman again.... I'd send loads of money to inner city and rural schools.... I'd give a cap to costs to consumers on natural gas up north (I don't care if my step grandfather cares more about the GOP than whether his house is heated)... I'd call for the immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq, I'd call for the immediate seizure of the collective fortunes of the members of the administration be placed into the Treasury..... I'd make FDR's birthday January 30th a national holiday, honor of the BEST PRESIDENT there ever was. I'd create the Department of Peace and dedicate and name the building for Paul Wellstone, after I'd make Air America a federally funded radio station to be broadcasted nationally,

Ok thats not realistic, I am concentrated on the 2006 elections, its not just impeachment, but the unseating of GOP congressmen who are raping this country too.

13. Food, heat, and helping my babies (family) in Louisiana
Edited on Wed Dec-21-05 11:09 AM by The Flaming Red Head
4 little nephews all under 13. I'm their Auntie Marie and I want to make sure my babies have a good stocking this year. They weren't in the official hurricane zone (Baton Rouge) but were already poor before the storm and the extra guest in town are making it hard for everyone down there, especially the already poor that sometimes had to depend on some charity before the storm. They count on me this time of the year and are my favorite hurricane fund. Their Mom just graduated from nursing school, (I'm so proud of her) so next year is going to be MUCH better.

Sorry my priorities aren't seeming political, but a lot of people are losing their safety nets at a time they can least afford it.
